Re: Fixed a badly detailed Jeep....a lesson in getting what you pay for

    Couple of thoughts:
    First - excellant work!
Maybe try Mother`s Trim Cleaner? - sure looked good in that other tread here.
I showed this to my neighbor down the block that speaks Jeep - has about 6, 2 running
and he shook his head, muttered something about poser, and why da hell you wash a Jeep anyway? I have to add that his pride and joy gets a coin wash only to clean the mud off. Crazy dude but can fix anything........

The textured top....used apc, wax remover, solvent, and a few other things. Got ~60% of it out. Going into it, I told the owner it may not all come out. He was happy with the result, though I still wanted better out of it.
Did you try steam and clay? I know I`ve clashed some pretty strange stuff on texture an it seems to get it out. The steam another big go to and lastly if all else fails, I resort to m39 and maybe car-pro trix.

Tried, and failed. Though you can`t clay that texture...it would just make it worse.

I do in extreme cases, it adds time but there is a way. Use the clay to bond with the surficant. Then use cpro trix an wipe with an mf, it will pull the clay residue right off an leave a clean surface. Other option is the nano skin mitt, they work wonders on many surfaces.

39 is still my go to as a wax polish remover, Michael stoops really turned me on to it. I just wish they sold it in a gallon form.

Awesome work man! Who would think it was OK to wax that top? Jeeps have some of the toughest areas to work around. Just curious what size pad and machine did you use in the tight areas for the correction work? Again great job!

I took advantage of the sale Todd had and ordered some Mother`s Trim Cleaner, I`m thinking that would have been a big help on that Jeep top. I`ve got a couple crap-tas-tic plastic things like Pontiac Vibe`s and Honda Elements to detail soon!
