    Harley Davidson

Here is the latest detail that I did today. It was supposed to be an Expedition but the woman didn`t show up nor did she call so that made me just a little mad. I got this customer to bump up his appointment so I didn`t lose out on a detail since I am limited to the amount that I can do. I had done his bike last year I believe so I knew what to expect. The paint is really pretty in the sun so I made sure to get some pictures outside. He also wants me to do it again in October before he puts it away for the winter. Got myself a $25 tip as well. The bike was washed, paint clayed and 1 step polished, chrome was polished, fins were dressed and leather was protected. Enjoy!

I used Adams #1 and #2 metal polish. Once I have used that up I`ll be looking for something else to replace it with.

Here`s a couple to get you started...
    WASH
To start I use S100 Total Cycle Cleaner on the wheels not S100 Wheel Cleaner.
I pull the saddlebags and spray down the wheels & let `em soak for about 3 mins.
Then I use a small wheel brush (Daytona Jr. Wheel Brush or equivalent) to scrub.
Rinse thoroughly, wipe & rinse again to make sure that all the S100 cleaner is off.
Yes, on bikes I do the wheels first.

    DRY
Then (this is my favorite for bikes) I use a Mr. Clean Auto-Dry to soap `em up.
I take a quality wash mitt (like the Carpro Merino Wool) and soak it with suds.
This is my "no bucket" method. A Mr. Clean A-D soap wash and a soapy mitt.
Once it`s all "washed" I use the full water rinse and follow with the filter rinse.

Dry using a blow dryer (Metro etc.) the more power the better for small areas.
Start from the top down and be sure to get all the little nooks and crannies.
Follow with quality drying microfiber towels to get any tiny drops that are left.

With this wash/dry method I`m able to wash & dry a full sized bike in 15 mins.
Yes, it used to take me hours before I started using the Mr. Clean Auto-Dry.
NOTE: Be sure to use caution around electrical, dash gauges, speakers etc.
BTW - Did I mention the bike needs to be cool to the touch before starting?
