Tesla Model S w/ Opti-Coat Pro | TLC Auto Detail

We had another Tesla come in today...I think that makes 20 for us, certainly nowhere near Joe "Opti-Tesla" in CA, but we are very happy working on these machines so often.

This one was booked for a light correction and application of Opti-Coat Pro. We started with the wheels and tires. The wheels were fairly dirty, but nothing terrible.

We used the new lemon scented Iron X and let it dwell for a few minutes.

We then agitated the wheel face, spokes, and barrels with various Wheel Woolie brushes.

The tires and wheel wells were cleaned with Meguiars APC+, the wheels coated with Opti-Coat Pro, the tires dressed with Car Pro PERL, and the wheel swells dressed with Meguiars Hyperdressing.

The vehicle was then washed with CG Mr. Pink and dried with cloud buster mf`s. We also did a light clay job since there was some grittiness to the paint, but nothing crazy.

We then inspected the paint to see what we were working with. The swirls were tough to capture on this color, but they were there. Mostly just light marring from dealer washing I`m sure.

This paint was on the softer side, when compared to the other Tesla colors, so we came up with a two step process to remove the swirls and clean upthe haze to make sure the paint was as glossy as possible before cdoating.

Our first step was M205 on an MF pad via the Rupes 21, and it was followed with my new favorite finishing polish, Car Pro Reflect on a black BS pad also via the Rupes 21. After all the polishing was finished we wiped the paint down two times with Car Pro Eraser to prep for the coating.

Next the paint, glass, trim, and wheels were all coated with Opti-Coat Pro. Here is how it all came together.
