2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide by Aggressive Detailing

As always, this time of year the bikes start calling up. I can`t imagine why... maybe it has to do with that little gathering up in Daytona Beach. hmmm.

This is a lovingly cared for 2007 Street Glide that is the owners pride and joy. Unfortunately, some of the products he was using left really bad directions on the bottle. (S100 Total cycle cleaner which is a fantastic product, but they tell you to just spray it on, let it sit and then hose off and promptly dry. ) The owner followed the directions as he did not want anything to happen to his bike, but unfortunately, without gentle agitation, the cleaner never removed all the surface grime. Immediately drying afterwards then used this grime like sandpaper to cause all sorts of swirls in the paint.

This would not do, not for that all important showing of everything two wheeled coming up in a week.

    So I got to work!

First off was showing how S100 should be used. Walked client through using it tin by tin, and spraying a good amount for adequate lubrication, wipe gently with a natural sea sponge. Then, rinsing the sponge out in a bucket and moving on to the next tin. A complete rinse was in order every second tin or painted panel.

The IronX was then brought out to help remove any deep down contaminants.

After another thorough rinse we used a blower then a super guzzler to blot dry the rest of the remaining water.

The paint then got a good claying with a Pinnacle Ultra Poly clay bar and Pinnacle Clay lube.

Once that was done it was time for correction. We decided to do a hybrid correction process. A 1 step with Menzerna Super Intensive Polish on all the panels to remove 99% of the defects, then on all the top panels, a second polish with Menzerna Micro Polish to bring out that deep wet shine for when the sun hits it.

Tools used for this process were lake county orange light cutting pads for the SIP, followed by Red pads for the Micro Polish.

Polisher used was the Griot`s 3" RO

The results after the polishing? Here is the gas tank before and after:

    Saddle Bag before

    And after

After the polishing was completed, it was time for the icing on the cake.

Yep, you guessed it! Wet Ice Over Fire!

I can not think of anything else to use on such a gorgeous color!

While waiting for the Wet Diamond finish to cure, all the chrome was treated with Chemical Guys Metal Shine Polish and Protection. I really love this product as it does such a fantastic job of removing tarnish and leaving behind a nice bit of protection when you are all finished.

Once that was done I laid down a thin coat of Midnight Sun and wiped it off with a Cobra Indigo towel (My fav LSP removal device and wish they were still being made..)

So here is the final result:

    Thanks for looking!!

    Lol

One year my wife and I were returning to Florida from a trip to VA and NC and decided to spend the night in St. Augustine. Turns out it was the weekend of Biketoberfest and
we had to continue to Orlando to find a room.

    Nice work on the Harley!
