    1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 1 step with Meguiars D151 - Garry Dean - Tampa, FL

I signed on to do several of these old school Porsches this week. This one I did last Thursday. Nothing fancy, just wash, Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System, then Megs D151 and a good wheel and tire clean.

I really like these old Porsches. I spent 9 hours today compounding and polishing a 1980 911 SC. That video and write up will be started as soon as I complete it tomorrow.

This one is a short one.

The 930 is my favorite, although a friend of mine has a `73 CarreraRS clone race car that is pretty sweet too!

I really like that car, it looks like it really gets some use! What appear to be nice buckets, a roll bar, harnesses, OZ Allegeritas (not your usual suspects, but not bad at all!) and (this might be a stetch) Pilot Sport Cup tires?

    Nice work Gary!

Thanks! Yes they are Pilot Sport Cups if memory serves me correctly.

Great turnaround. D151 must be some crazy good stuff. How would you compare it to D301?

    Beautiful job! Great shine!!!

Although unless that body work was heavily modified, I do not think that it is a 1986 or a 930. (930 was the turbo model of the late `80`s)

It looks like the 964 body style which was years 1989 - 1994. The rear deck "Carrera 2" would not be on an `86. And it appears that it has the retractable rear wing which did not come about until the 964.

    Car looks great, nice work!

Which polisher did you use with the D151?

I may have the year wrong. I will check when I go to finish the 1980 I`m working on today.

Thanks. I used the GG d/a with Sonus orange pads.
