I just finished applying Klasse SG and Meguiars Gold Class to my hood. Klasse SG has the driver`s side. Meguiar`s Gold Class has the passenger side.

The hood was first clayed with Eagle One Clay Bar (Yes, I still hate this clay bar but I need to use them up). I then polished it with 3M Swirl Mark Remover, then Meguiar`s #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 and finally applied two coats of Klasse AIO. The paint was as smooth as glass.

This picture is just after Klasse AIO was finish being applied. My paint is a Deep Wedgwood Blue. It is metallic.

This is with the tape applied. It is 7-day release tape but I won`t be leaving it on that long. I am actually going to be taking it off since I don`t want to be driving around with a blue strip down my hood.

OK this is with the products applied.

Klasse SG on the drivers side applied with a MF applicator.

Meguiars GC on the passenger side applied with a foam applicator.

Yes, I know there is some hazing from the Klasse SG that you can see. I`m just not use to doing an area this small.

Both products were applied at 5:30. I will be removing them at 7 after King of the Hill. I won`t be able to get pics because I don`t feel like draggin out my flood lights. I`ll take pictures tomorrow before the second coat of Klasse SG.

puff... my oak trees are dropping all their leaves right now. I have to back up in the street to keep the leaves off. If I didn`t, then I would have a trash can full of leaves on my truck by morning!

Remember, initial shine isn`t everything! SG lasts much much longer, and the GC seems to get shinier after a week, then after 2-4 weeks it needs re-waxing. After a second layer, GC is much glossier, IMO.

Ummm I don`t have any pics of GC or SG buffed off yet. The Third picture with the tape is just the hood with the tape on it yet. I just finished buffing the two products off like 30mins ago and it was dark out. Yes, I was out there with a flashlight

I`ll be taking pictures tomorrow before I apply a second coating. I would like to get Klasse SG up to 5 coats over the next week.

How many coats of GC should I put on? I was thinking three.

Intel-may I make a small suggestion for the pics you post tomorrow? Go to www.xat.com and download the free version of the image optimizer. It is only 1MG so it downloads quick even with dial-up. You can resize the pics so they don`t stretch the page-it is really hard to read when you have to keep moving the page. You can also compress with the program and crop if needed. Everyone should have it on their computer.

Other than that, I am enjoying the progress of your test. I will say that in my experience, not only does #26 last longer than GC, but it shines better for longer.

In any event, keep the side by side comparisions coming. They are highly informative!

Bad news. Today I looked at it and couldn`t tell any difference on either side! They look the same in the direct sun and in the shade.

I`ve got a second coat of GC and SG on the truck right now. Will be removing shortly before 6 today. Probably too dark to takes pics though. I`ll see what it looks like tomorrow. Hopefully we will start to see a difference.

Also, I`m using Yosteve MF towels for removal. For the GC I use a dry one. For the SG I use a wet one and then buff with a dry one.

I did the same type of thing recently with MGC, Blitz, Eagle One Pure and couldn`t tell a difference.

I think a better test would be to do half the hood and 1 front fender with each product. The curvature of the fender makes it easier to tell differences between products.
