<strong class=`bbc`>I can tell you that Cox II`s aren`t necessarily all that they are cracked up to be.

Believe it or not, Motrin 800 is as good (or better) for pain as Codeine.

It has also been shown that people who have taken NSAID`s over long periods of time have lower incidence of GI cancer due to its anti-inflammatory effect. They also serve as blood thinners and thus can benefit the cardio-vascular system.

I agree with you bigboyhf, cox-2 inhibitors ARE NOT all they are cracked up to be. They are unfortunately quite overused right now...

FYI, there has been no conclusive data that 800 mg of ibuprofen are beneficial over 600 mg of ibuprofen, although the side effects increase signficantly between the doses!

And finally, all NSAIDs have a "blood thinning" effect due to inactivation of platelets. However, only aspirin permanently inactivates them (about 7 days until new ones are created). All the others have questionable effect on cardiovascular health as their effects are VERY transient.

Most of the things that I have read regarding COXIIi`s generally point to the fact that they are really most effective in treating joint inflammation and not many of the other things. They are not known to be any better at treating pain than ibuprofin or aspirin. So if you have pain from surgery, it seems that these may not be the best. I have also heard that some people do not respond to these medications as well as regular aspirin or ibuprofin.

2005 Passat: MF D300 Paint correction and interior detail

2005 Passat: MF D300 Paint correction and interior detail

This car belongs to a long time client of mine. It`s his daily driver, it`s never been hand washed by him, and it only see`s touch-less or tunnel washes. It was last detailed by me in Dec `08....needless to say it was overdue for a clean up.

    Paint correction Process:
-D300 MF compound via PCXP 5" MF pads
-M205 via rotary and LC cyan foam pad
-Wet sanding was done with 3" disks 1000/2000/4000

    Paint Protection:
    -Blackfire Wet-Diamond

    Interior Process:
-Carpets/mats cleaned with Folex and the LGM. Some areas pre-treated with 303 fabric cleaner
-Vinyl and dash cleaned with OPC and/or Einszitt Cockpit Premium
-Leather cleaned with OCP and Leather Masters

    Before pics:

The result of a drunk, angry girl in a bar parking lot!

What I had to work with....

Backing plate/interface pad ( interface was not really needed with the Abralon disks)

    3" disk

    Sanded down and feathered out

Paint condition....swirls and lots of deep RIDS

Some 50/50 shots after the D300 only

D300 finished down well...only a light haze remained

Headlights looked bad so they were lightly sanded, polished, and coated with Opti-Coat ...a freebie for my good client

    Chad,

Another beautiful restoration of awesome German products !

And its only been 3 years since you did it last - wow, only had 3 years of "life" in it to "rearrange", (as I tell my Clients.

The newest Meguiars products and pads for Random Orbitals look like they are going to be "keepers", right ??

I really liked how Rotary Power, Cyan Pad technology and Meguiars 205 really cleared up that black paint to mirror-like quality.

Thanks for sharing some more of your awesome work.

    Thanks again guys!

Barry, he has me to clean it, that`s why!

Dan, yes, the MF system is here to stay and will be finding a new home with many detainees both novice and pro!

I did a quick video of me finishing down a section with M205....since I`m wearing the killer TID/PAC shirt that Jack/Todd gave me at SEMA I guess it only makes sense to share it here.

Thanks DC! I`d guess I probably had 6-7 total hours in the polishing and 4-5 of the was D300. There were a lot of RIDS that I spent more time on since he`s a good friend, and that added a lot of time as the paint was pretty hard.
