Mystic Blue 2003 BMW 330ci Makeover

I was contacted by this Client out in Kingston TN to see if I could put a Tru Shine onto his 2003 BMW 330ci. This car was originally a Florida car and from the looks of it, they enjoyed washing the car with sand. So after about 12 hours of work I got this bad boy shining like it was supposed to.

So lets look at what I had to work with when I arrived.

I started by pre rinsing the car and wheels.

Then sprayed some P21s wheel gel diluted at 1:3 ratio to the wheels.(looks clear in the pics for some reason)

I let it dwell for a min and then agitated it and cleaned it using the EzDetail brush.

and cleaned the faces with misc wheel brush

Next I foamed down the car.(Avoiding the freshly treated rag top)

    here is what was used:

2 bucket method w/ Grit guards
    100% sheep skin wash mitt
Foam cannon with car wash and degreaser mixture
1 wheel bucket with various wheel brushes
    P21s wheel Gel

The first rinse to get off any heavy debris

Then a second foam before the hand wash

    Getting into all the jams

    The Final rinse

Dried off and ready to pull in

You gotta love when the owner has a lift!

The owner want the wheels cleaned and sealed inside and out. So the first thing I did was remove all of the wheels.

Next I got out my Clay magic fine clay and show room shine for clay lube.

I didn`t want any dust getting on the rag top so I took some black plastic and covered it up. I used the Meguiars tape to hold it in place.

Here is the trunk under the halogen lights.

    and here is a 50/50

And for the hood here are some before and after and Test areas

    Zoomed in

Here is a Test area that I done with the Griots 6in DA w/ Surbuff pad and M105, and Meg 205/ tang pad

And here is the Finished product polished out with Meg 205 and LC Tang pad

My process used was the Griots 6in & 3in DA with:

6in and 4in Surbuff R series pads with Meguiars M105

    followed by

Lake country Cyan/M105 and Lake country tangerine pad/M205

    50/50

    different shades of blue

    Driver door before

    Driver door after

Getting the lower rocker panel with a 4in Surbuff pad on a Griot`s 3in DA

    Quarter panel before

    Quarter panel 50/50

Clay baring the wheels to remove any stuck on grime.

applied some PB`s wheel sealant (2 coats, letting each coat haze before removal)

Before mounting the wheels and tires back onto the car, I cleaned the fender wells and suspension with some APC and degreaser

Once cleaned and wiped dry, I applied some 303 aerospace protectant

I put the wheels back on and had to move the car to the other bay. Once that was done I applied some Black Fire Wet Diamond using a LC blue finishing pad on my Griot`s 6in DA.

At this point is was about 10:30pm and was dark out side. So no sun shots on this one. but I did manage to snap some while I was in the garage.

    I love this blue

Thanks for viewing, Have a blessed day!

lol, nope, it would be WAY to Hazy. sometimes if its a fresh surbuff pad, and hazes it up real bad, i hit it with the cyan pad and work the 105 until is goes clear and then the 205/tang pad. It all kind of depends on the paint and how hard and soft it is.

WOW! Beautifull work and I agree about that color. Nice to have a lift too.

I also like how you masked the rag top for protection from buffing fly off.
