A friend just got a Lexus SC 430. He wants it done but says he read in the manual that it doesnt need or shouldnt be waxed because the paint is "special" Can any one relate to this? Or is it bogus.

I don`t know about SC430, but this is exactly what dealer told my father in law whan he bought his LX470. After over a year I couldn`t stand it anymore and detailed the car. You would not believe what was on that car! I would definitely try to protect that car either with wax or sealant.

Search the archives for more info.

Whoever wrote that manual is "special" if you know what I mean Yes, it should be waxed/sealed.

There are products avaliable for fresh paint like Myers - Whenever i buy a new or newish Bentley i use a dual high speed buffer - no wax - although i have done i admit - but its never done my motors any harm

I am with Brad4rdHay, protect your paintwork. Specials are a bit like "I know a shortcut or This wont take long", :scared

Hehe - wanna prove this as bunk, fast?

    Just tell that dealer this:

"Darn - I`m not supposed to do anything to it? And I was going to ask you how much the protection package is - I was interested in getting the paint `treated`"

See how fast he reverses trend

(Of course, by all means, don`t pay him to do ANYTHING)

2011 Corvette Grand Sport by Immaculate Reflections

The Corvette dealer I do work with gets themselves a new demo car each year. This year it was a 2011 Grand Sport loaded with every option. I did this one several months back but just forgot to post it, so here`s just a few quick pics. Car was in near perfect shape to begin with and needed no correction. It got a ONR wash, Zaino Clay with ONR as lube, Zaino Z9/10 on the leather, Z16 on tires, and a coat of BFWD to top it off.

    Thanks for looking!
