I have seen alot of posts about putting a wax layer over the SG. Is this recommened? If so, does that not allow you to then go back and SG at a later time.

I was just wondering about the advantage of putting wax over the SG. I searched on the archives and saw that alot of people recommned Blitz on top of the SF as a topper.

    Hey Pats,

Don`t wax over the SG unless you are satisfied with the results of your layers of SG.You can`t SG over the wax. IMO why wax when its not as durable, you could just put another layer of SG, unless you are going for a look that only a carnauba wax can give. To my eye I could`t tell a big enough difference when I used Souveran. Its a GREAT wax. I have Blitz also. EASY to put on and off. But My car is not garaged and I live in FL. So maybe the Souveran lasted 1 to 2 weeks in the sun all day. Experment and see whats good for your situation.

I`ve only used a MF applicator to apply SG, but I`ve got some terry colth ones and a foam one laying around. Which do you guys consider to be the best at applying SG?

    Thanks.

IMO ,without a doubt ,eagle one foan pad from CMA . The mf grabs to much for me . No hand fatigue with the Eagle One. You just have to get that foam wet and then it glides like ice. There is a thread on eagle one pads I posted a few days ago.

Hey there, if anyone has one, post a pic of this pad.

    Regarding this SG Glaze :-)

I have 8 layers on my car now, I was applying two layers every weekend, I would strip it all and start over for the heck of it.

My new detail rig: Mazda Speed3

Picked up this `10 Mazdaspeed 3 last week. Way more fun to drive then the HHR, but a little less room. It needed a pretty decent detail so I...

    -washed with Dawn
-clayed using Blackfire Polyclay II and Blackfire Lube (lot`s of green overspray, it took me about 2 hours to get everything smooth).
    - polished with Meguiar`s new DA Microfiber System
    - wheel wells, wheels, tires, and trim cleaned with Optimum Power Clean 3:1 and a lot of different brushes (Eimann Fabrik Wheel Woolies for the wheels, arches, and front grill, tooth brushes (ADA approved) for all of the trim)
    - 2 coats of wheel wax on the wheels
    - Blackfire Tire Gel on the tires
    - Exhaust tips polished with Optimum Metal Polish
    - Glass Science on the windows
    - Meguiar`s Ultimate Protectant on the trim
    - Meguiar`s Hyperdressing on the wheel wheels

Figured you would have gotten something bigger Todd :Christmas Hat:

Looks great, just don`t show the dealer as their customers might expect that level of finish LOL!
