I`m thinking of trying a MF mitt for washing. Are they more durable than the cotton chenille? Can they stand up to
repeated machine washings? The 100% cotton chenille cannot... I have learned this the hard way.

Mine has stood up to several washes with no problems what so ever. I wash it with the Mfs I used to QD.
My cotton mitts have been through the washing machine at least 10 times and I have no problem with them. The Viking ones tend to get torn up in the washer, but the S.M Arnold mitts I have from TACS hold up fine.

My viking mitthas been in use for months and it is still clean white. I rub it together and kind of wash it by hand at the end of each wash with the left over car wash and rinse it real well. For the very bottom panels, fender well rails, and wheels, I use a separate mitt. I just don`t see the need to machine wash.
You are right DK, most of the time they really don`t need washed. But I am very pickey and I don`t want to take the chance of their being a small piece of dirt up in there that I missed. So I just throw them in the washing machine, to me it`s cheap insurance. :up

I wash my mitt about every three uses, by hand with Dawn.

Well, I`m getting Nelly (my `07 Sonata with 110,000 miles) ready for another road trip. Nothing special, just felt like posting some pics.
A few weeks ago I pulled the wheels, gave the wells a shot of undercoating and Meg`s Ultimate Protectant, cleaned and sealed the wheels and dressed the tires.
This past week I cleaned the engine with Meg`s APC (6:1) and dressed with Stoner`s. Dressed all of the rubber seal with 1Z Gummi Pflege, plastic parts with Meg`s UP.
Even the wiper arms turned out pretty good - "black powdered metal" was dressed with Meg`s UP.
Used Diamondite glas polishing system for the windscreen.
Not shown: shampoo cleaning of the seats, sheep skin covers, seat belts and floor mats.
In the back I dressed the trunk threshold with Meg`s UP.
Dressed all seals and soft rubber with 1Z Gummi Pflege.
Polished the tail lights with Menzerna Final Polish and sealed.
Then, just to prove I`m obsessed, I polished the muffler using Meg`s APC, Scotch Bright Scrubbing Pad and a Magic Erasor.
Still need another coat of sealant, a wax topper and clean the interior glass.
Thanks for looking.
Regards,
GEWB
That`s some strong work GEWB!
And Yes...I think you`re obsessed to go for polishing the muffler...but hey...it does look really good now.
It has to feel good to have that done before the long winter hits there in the Rockies.
I was born and raised in CO...so I know what`s about to hit.

Hello Bill -
Thanks but she`ll be dirty by time I hit Overland Park on Friday night the 22nd - just BETTING there will be a snow storm.
Kathi and I are doing Jack Stax that evening for dinner (95th and Metcalf) then a good night sleep.
Just hope I don`t repeat the nightmare drive from `09.
Regards,
GEWB
