Anyone have any good way to remove all those funky color markings new tires come with.

The spots I have are like paint. I tried scrubbing with brass. No good.

Also who makes the best tire dressing that is not oily nor fly off.

For tire dressings Zaino, Lexol Vinylex, Aerospace 303 and Eimann Fabrik Black Opal are the favourites.

To get rid of the paint try a Brilo pad, or EF Hi-Intensity.

As far as tire dressings go, this is an "up in the air" subject, as different people have different tastes, likes, etc. I personally use EF Black Opal (which many hate), but in the end it leaves a nice "ghetto shine" that I like, and it lasts about a week, which is more I can say for the other tire dressings I`ve ever tired.

I had the same problem removing the triangular and circular paint spots that were on Yokahama Paradas I bought last month. Using pine tar and bug remover with a firm tooth brush took it off without marring the rubber. I like Zaino and 303 myself for tire dressings, it depends on how much shine you like beyond the protection factor

I agree with Steve, try EF HI. It is great for cleaning tires, it even removes browning. Maybe use a good stiff brush and scrub your tires with it.

    Thanks for the input.

After cleaning today I notice a funky spot on tire. Looks like a rubber booger smeared on the tire. Gonna take it back to dealer and have them look at it. I do not want a blow out because of sidewall failure.

About the tires, if its just a booger looking thing its probably just a flaw in the tire, I owuldnt really worry about failure. But, if they`re Firestones, I`d replace them irregardless. But it is most likely a cosmetic flaw. Just my opinion though

I have Firestone`s on my car and I regularly go 90 on the freeway. I feel more danger from my Honda Civic`s soft suspension than I do from the tires. They say that it`s just the Wilderness AT from a specific year that`s bad. I hope they`re right.

Ford, Chrysler, and GM have had thousands of recalls on their vehicles, some that even caused deaths. People still buy their cars. But for some reason one production run of a tire causes people to think all of Firestones tires are flawed. Sad story for Firestone. But of course it is a way more tragic for the families that lost lives due to the Wilderness tires.

    How true WAXMAN.

Bad publicity can kill a company. Now everyone is looking at all brands of tires. Before these tragic events not many people truely maintained their tires properly.

Now what can they do about all those large truck tires scattered across the interstates?

Anyone know a good tire brush? The ones they sell in retail stores tend to suck after a while. The last one I bought, all of the bristles are starting to fall off.

    2005 Toyota Camry (Interior Detail)

Heres a Toyota Camry I detailed yesterday. This was an interior detail only as well. I did take before pictures but they really did not turn out that well at all, it would have been nice since the interior was pretty trashed. Here is my process, products used, and after pictures.

    Process/Products Used:

-Remove everything from inside the car. ( garabge, pens, papers, etc.)
-Vacumm the seats, carpet, interior door panels, in bewtween the seats, and brush out all vents and crevices of dirt and dust with varous brushes.

-Clean carpet wth Meguiars APC Plus, warm water, and a brush. Rinse with a damp terry cloth and extract with shop vac and dry cotton towels. Some areas with treated with Tuff Stuff.

    - Clean Leather with Meguiars APC and a small bristled brush, then condition leather with Meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner and Conditioner.

    - Wipe all door panels, dash, and center console down with APC Plus then treat with Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer for a clean new/matte finish.

    - All Glass cleaned inside and out with Meguiars Glass Cleaner Concentrate at 10:1.

    - Door jambs cleaned with Meguiars Last touch, various brushes and a damp microfiber towel.

    - Winter floormats were cleaned with Meguiars Super Degreaser, rinsed, then re cleaned with APC to ensure all dirt and grime was removed.

I also threw in a free wash and tire dressing. It wouldnt have felt right to drive it back with the exterior dirty.

    Thanks for looking.

Very nice work Nick! I get a lot of those "Interior Only" jobs. I`m like you... I can`t deliver a dirty car back to the customer, even if the interior looks immaculate!

The interior looks brand new!:clap:ancing Dot:
