Don`t you just love how all the cars fly by when you`re at 120 plus?? I know, I know... It is extremely dangerous to do, but it`s almost a calming experience... anyways...

The fastest I`ve been in a car was 140 mph in friend`s Lexus SC430. However, the fastest I`ve been in MY car (Ford Explorer XLT) was 121 mph. The limiter kicked in and wouldn`t let me go all the way to the 160, so... I BOUGHT A CHIP THAT REMOVES THE LIMITER I have yet to test it again, though... Perhaps I`m getting wiser in my old age

100+ on a Yamaha YZF. Needless to say after that ride I had the runs for a day.

I forgot to mention the worst/only ticket I`ve ever gotten - 76 in a 35, on radar. :nono :doh

Yikes! All of this scares me. I`ve only been driving about a year and the fastest I`ve gone is 85 in a 65.

My jaw would drop if your explorer could make it to 160 on any road. That`s all we need, an SUV going that fast. LOL. Say, does the car start to shake at any point? My friend`s Explorer does at 90+.

Red Wolf - Mine at least is limited to 155.

I know... this is extremely dangerous and a little wacko but heres what I did last night.

My friend and I went to see Signs (good movie BTW) so when we were comming home (I was driving her truck, an `89 F-150 5.0 V-8) we were probably doing about 65 on the highway when I looked back and there was a semi right on my ***. I sped up a little, soon enough I was going 80 and he was still there. So I just floored it. About 2 mins later I glanced down at the speedo and the needle was completely vertical pointing down. Keep in mind the speedo goes to 85, so I estimate I was doing around 110 in a 14 year old farm truck that weighs about 6500lbs. The funny thing is... it felt like it would have gone a lot faster.:scared

This afternoon, on my way back from Snoqualmie Pass/Falls in western WA, this Plymouth Voyager was passing everybody at about 85-90 mph. There and then, I decided to see what my(sister`s) Taurus LX would do. I floored it on a slight downgrade going 80(speed limit was 70), and within about 4 seconds it was going 107. Then cop fear took over(only got my license about 3 months ago), and i slowed down. Nice brakes for a car with almost 122,000 miles on it!

I`ve heard that the 1996 Taurus LX is limited to 112 mph, but i am not sure. Anybody here who can tell me from "live" experience?

I`ve got the Autobahn package on my Aurora which has a fuel cut-off of 146MPH...I only had the balls to take it to 132, which was plenty fast enough for me.

Tight, someone from where I`m from. On I-90 to Snoqualmie Pass, cops hide at mile marker 38 going towards Seattle, and going toward the pass, they hide exit 34, the one right after North Bend on the onramp. They also hide on the twisty part, right before exit 38 (Seattle East), but I`ve only seen them there once
