LOL! I really am trying to just slow it down. I have 6 brothers and we all have a heavy foot. (runs in the family I guess) I was pretty shook up after that incident though. The consequences could have been pretty severe for excessive speed like that. License revoked, 6 months, accident.... I still need that radar detector though...

Some of you guys are just crazy (or lying) because driving a 4500 lbs. beast at 120mph + is insane. Given that most of us really don`t have the driving skills to be driving this fast on public roads, at least in a Porsche, BMW, MB, Nissan Maxima or even a Civic the weight, center of gravity, brakes and suspensions all work to keep us from making horrible mistakes (ok unless you have an older 911 then you may be swaping ends unless you know what you are doing).

But those heavy beast of sedans from the 80`s or an SUV (minus the Cayenne, X5, AMG ML320 etc.) is just playing with fire. The average Tahoe, Explorer, etc. just doesn`t have the brakes or the suspension for the weight and center of gravity these vehicles have to handle these speeds safely in the hands of the average driver. You definitely have more guts than me.

147 in a Crown Vic Police Interceptor. I used to work for the Sheriff`s Dept. I was chasing an old 944 Porsche. His motor blew and he crashed out. I almost crashed from all of the oil, but I got stopped in time to pull him from the wreckage. I was also the follow car in a chase with a crotch rocket on the interstate, got up to 125, and Lt. called the chase off.

    My best ever = 176mph, FZR1000 EXUP.

Dual carriageway bypassing the village where I used to live in the UK.

At 150mph plus, dotted lines down the centre of the road are no longer dotted, you get this wierd `head wobble` from the air turbulance and the only thing you can think is :

"If anything goes wrong here I`m f@#*ed!!"

Last Sunday(~10:40PM - 1:40AM), me and my friend were going to pick up another friend at the airport in STL...we did about 110-120 the whole way up on I-44E...all this in a 2004 BMW 525i...that thing just doesn`t feel right if you aren`t going at least 100...thank God we didn`t get caught! Funny thing was my friend got a $90 ticket the next day for doing 50 in a 35 in-town!
