    Blown 68 camaro correction

This is going to my first write up so bear with me. I had a guy bring me this 1968 camero that has been at the body shop getting painted for the past 6 months. It has been painted for some time now. The painter wet sanded the car and sort of buffed out some of the sanding marks. Not even touching the trunk, parts of the roof, the lower part of the driver door, behind the rear bumper, and various other parts around the car. The painter told the owner he wouldn`t buff out the rest of it until all the trim was installed. Including the bumpers, and spoiler. This is where the owner, and painter "had a falling out", and the owner went looking for another way to get his car finished.

Upon inspecting i noticed that there were imperfections all over in the paint that weren`t going to come out ie. some very heavy sanding marks underneath the paint, and you could see where the old stripes use to be. The owner understood that what he was going to get wasn`t going to be perfect.

The color was kind of tough to capture on camera. It was sprayed gold followed by a candy red then a bunch of crazy flakes. The stripes are flat black then the whole thing was cleared. This made it look black, red, gold, and even green in some light.

The job took a little over 15hrs, and was done with fg400 on a yellow ccs pad. Then menz 2500 on a white pad. Then topped with jet seal 109, and Pete`s 50/50.

Thanks for being patient. If I type much more it will just turn into rambling so here are the pics.

This is the trunk with my test spots to the left side. The owner was very happy with it after menz 2500, so that system was repeated over the rest of the car. The areas that weren`t touched after wet sanding took two rounds of compound, and the rest was only one round of compounding. I was actually very impressed with the workings time of fg400. It was my first time using it and I must say I do like it a lot.
