    2000 Porsche Boxster

Here is another semi-decent write up I can share with you guys, this was the car that solidified my current relationship with my best client. He is a really awesome dude, a couple of weeks ago he let me drive his F355 from Milwaukee back to Madison (about 100 miles), which was probably the coolest I have ever felt.

This is my first real write up, so bare with me.

The car is a silver 2000 Boxster S with only 30K miles on it. I was expecting much worse as the client had told me that the car had only been waxed twice during the ten years hes owned it. It was in pretty good shape and cleaned up very well. This was my first car for a new client which he sent to me to test out my services, thankfully he was very happy with the result and I`ll be working on more of his vehicles (he collects Porsches, among others).

Here is the list of products used during the detail,

    -Optimum Car Wash
    -Dawn Dish Soap
    -Menzerna 7.5 Gel Wheel Cleaner
    -Meguiar`s All Purpose Cleaner
    -Simple Green Cleaner
-Detailer`s Pride Rinseless Wash N Gloss
-Pinnacle Signature Series II Paste Wax
-Meguiars #40 Rubber and Vinyl Protectant
    -Wolfgang Sealant Spritz
    -Stoner Invisable Glass
    -Stoner Tarminator
    -Blackfire Polyclay II
    -Blackfire Wet Diamond
    -303 Aerospace Protectant
    -303 Convertible Top Cleaner
    -303 High Tech Fabric Guard
    -Meguiars #105 Ultra Cutting Compound
    -Meguiars #205 Ultra Finishing Polish
    -Lexol Leather Cleaner
    -Lexol Leather Conditioner
    -Klasse All-In-One Acrylic
    -P21S Total Auto Wash
    -1Z Einzsett Gummi Pflege Stift

The car was pretty dirty and had been sitting outside for a few weeks, all of the usual areas of concern needed to be attended to.

The wheels were cleaned using some of the close-out Menzerna wheel cleaner, good stuff.

    Before.

    Menzerna gel doing it`s thing!

The backs of the wheels were FILTHY!

    After.

The wheels were sealed with BFWD with a final wipe using Wolfgang Sealant Spritz.

Next, I cleaned the top using 303 convertible top cleaner.

The car was rinsed off then foamed with Optimum Car Wash/Dawn

The side vents were cleaned using P21S TAW and a small brush, the front of the car was scrubbed with a bug sponge.

Two bucket wash w/ lambswool and Optimum Car Wash

Dried using a California blade and a large waffle weave MF

    After washing.

Pulled the car back inside and clayed it with Blackfire Polyclay, here is what the clay showed after doing half the hood. It`s far from terrible but could definitely benefit from claying.

I then inspected the car using a variety of lights, the only one that showed me anything were the halogen work lights at a sharp angle. For being ten years old the paint was in great shape with only a some light scratches.

The car was given a 1-step polish using M205 on a white LC pad with a Flex rotary. The `after` shots were taken as I was polishing, so the adjacent panels will show some scratches. After polishing the car was sealed with BFWD.

The interior was pretty dirty, the floor matts were shampooed using CG Fabric Clean, the carpets were brushed and vacuumed, all surfaces were cleaned using a 1:10 dilution of Megs APC, the windows with Invisible Glass, the seats cleaned and conditioned with Lexol, the surfaces protected with 303, and 303 Fabric Guard was applied to the carpets and top.

All exterior plastic was treated with Megs #40, as well as the tires.

One coat of Pinnacle Signature Series II was applied by hand as an LSP.

    After shots.

Thanks for looking guys, I hope I`ll have more to post in the future.

Thanks Charlie! I wouldn`t mind a 996 Boxster myself, I know it`s a chick car but they are getting to be dirt cheap nowadays! I just need to find somewhere to hide a third car...

Great turnaround. Although I like the hardtops better than the convertibles.
