* Yeah, I had to clean it back up after a blast up the canyon. Nice car. It`s kind of funny how the day of beautiful factory engines have come and gone. I was looking at the picture and thought, pretty dang nice and then realized what I was appreciating was black plastic. I`ve become accustomed to less visible aluminum, polished stainless and chrome. I had to laugh at myself. This looks nice but it isn`t a beautiful engine like the high performance engines of the early 70`s, a 454 C.I.D. LS6 comes to mind. The skull on the air inlet is a nice touch.

The second pic sure looks like a studio PR shot... If you did the prep work on it, nice job, if you did the photography work -- detailin`s not your calling!!

I had hoped you would see the asterisk at the bottom of the post. I had absolutely nothing to do with the detail or pic. It was in jest to go along with the teaser pic. Sorry if misleading you went any further than the post.

I didn`t see the * -- that is the however the type of work I did for many years -- studio/location new car advertising prep work. I didn`t know if that`s what you did, so was giving kudos to a job well done (well, whomever it was that preped this -- nice job!).

I like the way even the strut-rod supports are placed where they would lie when the hood was closed as well as the dull spray aplique in the cowl, brake cap and front hose/plastic areas -- very subtle, yet masterfully done; no blotches or specks. It`s amazing how much work and time goes into a hero shot such as this. Numerous lights, flags, filters, gels, scrims, black wrap and flats are used in setting up a shot that looks so natural.

I remember working on an Olds Alero motor shot where 40 (yes 40!) light stands were used to acheive hold all the lights flags, etc... This level of detailing looks easy, but man it is a whole breed apart from fixing up the daily driver.
