G35 Head light before and after

Used PBs Pro Polish by hand with a MF applicator and an Ultimate wipe for removal. Finished with a coat of AIO.

A couple of more pics that turned out.

I was curious how Pro Polish would do. Worked pretty good.

Re: G35 Head light before and after

Not sure. Seems like a residue more than actual plastic clouding or haze. What I mean is there is a yellowish tint left on the applicator. In addition Pro Polish is a chemical cleaner so no abrasives were used to remove the haze. If the haze wouldn`t have been removed with the cleaner, then an abrasive would be required. Seems like a common problem on the G35.

Thanks for the replies. Pro Polish is a product I very seldom use. I`m trying to find more uses for it.

Good luck with that. If you need something abrasive give Meguiar`s PlastX a try.

There are two ways that this can happen. There is interior fading, which is caused by a leak in the seal, water entering and the evaporation process leaving the residue and film from the minerals are left on the interior. Then there is exterior fading, which is baisically a UV issue yellowing and ruining the exterior finish of the lamp due to sunlight, and once again the water. Big PITA on many cars. What you can often do with an exterior issue is take the lamp off and take it down to a local body shop. They will baisically wet sand it down and shoot a new layer of clean....presto....looks like new! I will attach some pics of before and after of my headlamps on my contour SVT which I had this done to! Sorry for the lengthy response all!

The key is to either reguarly polish/seal these headlights, or have them clearbra`d...I went for the latter.

Be careful not to use anything carnuba, as this has been shown to cause yellowing as well.

    OOOO! AAAAH!!
    Nice fix!
I used PP on a Grand Prix set of headlamps and got great results quickly (and by hand).
Now I just have to find something to work on headlamps that have "flaked." Guess I may have to look at "power-assisted persuasion."

I use a high speed polisher on customer cars and charge $40 for headlight restoration. Takes all of 5 minutes each, unless they watch, then it takes 15 minutes a side

Re: G35 Head light before and after

As stated above, go with a clear bra on them. If you are just worried about the headlights, you can buy just those pieces. I had the entire front of my G35 done and understand that it is pretty expensive. However, the peace of mind is great.
