Actually that video isn`t all that bad.... Just the wheel cleaning after a wash, the $6,000 wax by hand (Zymol?), washing in the sun and stuff like that was a little off. I thought it was funny how he was giving a price for everything that he used (curious what that`d be in US currency). "Well heres my $3 MF towel, used to wipe off wax where a jar costs $20 and using my wash mitt of $10" Thats funny. Good post though.

good video if your new to detailing, it gves a glimpse into the world of the "pros". I thought it was fun to watch as i love watching detailing moveis (if anyone has any good ones online send me the web site pls) It is intresting that he is giving out a price, must have somthing to do with the shows hes doing it for. Any idea what kinda of products hes using other then Zymol?

What is that small polishing pad on his rotary?
the cost of that wax is nuts. with the enzyme talk and heat of ur hands to make it a wax. wow, i wonder if its all true or if its all for show.
This was featured in the latest Fifth Gear episode, which I dl`ed and watched last night. That is probably why he was mentioning prices etc. Anyway, here is his website.

wow either he is lying or products are damn expensive in UK. 16 pounds for 2 microfibers thats almost $30 USD.
This is taken from the latest 5th Gear episode, a weekly UK car show. He`s giving out prices because the segment was shot as a "this guy is the best and everything he uses costs a fortune... and the people he works for don`t care, because they`re oozing money".
As for prices, you can`t really just convert British pounds to American dollars (or anything else) and come up with an equated value. There are a lot of other factors involved, not the least of which is Britains VAT (value added tax... about 17% last I checked).

Of course. Paul works for a number of clients who demand the utmost discretion.

I thought washing out in the sun was hacky, though I wish I knew which citrus cleaner he used. I doubt it was Zep or AutoMagic.
I`m sure he does a good job over all, but the hype was kind of silly.
Of course, I`d almost pay to do some of those cars.

My guess is it would be Zymol Strik:Originally Posted by PEI Detail

Just a guess, though.

Ummm... sun? He was outside, but if you`ve ever lived in Britain (or even meandered through) you`ll know "sun" isn`t really an issue. All I saw was a whole lot of cloud.Originally Posted by PEI Detail

Its all hype! They create the hype that gets the employees going. Hence the large salary for them and this Brit, he created the hype and is selling it!
Well, yes and no. A lot of hype didn`t get him started with all those clients. I suspect a lot of networking and connections did (not to mention he obviously does a good job... it doesn`t really matter what products he uses). Kudos to him for what I suspect was a lot of hard work, and he looks like he enjoys what he does (hell, I know I would if I got to work on those cars every day).Originally Posted by jsatek
