Mercedes Benz S500 brought back from the dead - no 56k

This is one of the many many vehicles I will be doing for the limo service. This car is from a shop in the twin cities (about 2 hours from here). The detail shop there is horrendous. Its my job to try to bring all the cars back. Some weekend the owner wants me to go up and teach them the right way to wash. The shop owner is a SUPER nice guy and just really wants me to succed. I could go on and on about that.

But this is what all the vehicles from the twin cities shop look like.. its horrendous. I was able to remove about 90% of the marring, but some of the scours were just to deep.

    Process:

    QEW
    Clay
menzerna powergloss w/ orange light cut & wool pad @1800 rpm.
optimum polish w/ orange light cut @1500 rpm.
menzerna po85rd w. black finishing pad @1500 rpm.
    FK1 #2180

Tires got turbo wax wheel gel
Wheels got hyper dressing cut 2:1
Rims got meguiars apc & ocw
    windows cleaned with #425

Afters.. sorry about the crappy pics, this shop has very poor lighting and it was dark outside.

    half/half

some of the pics have smudges or other stuff, but dont worry I cleaned it up! And yes the wells are dressed even though the light says otherwise.

total working time: 10 hours

WHOA!! Excellent work, Greg. I`m still sitting here trying to figure out how it even got that bad... unbelievable!!

So are you getting these jobs from the limo company, or from the body shop where you did that town car limo?

If I might suggest it, though, you`re getting good enough with the rotary that I would try moving up to some more aggressive pads/products for finishes like that; it might save you a bit of time that way. I would`ve probably broken out a wool pad and some #84 or #85 (or a comparable equivalent) on those nasty swirls for the first step.

The owner of the body shop gave the limo owner my card. I got a call from him this friday and he was really excited to make things happen, so I went over and did a cadillac deville ( just as bad ) yesteray and the benz today. He has tons of work for me to do, and pays really good. I owe the body shop owner big time for giving me this connection!!

It is a good thing to go and use different products to see what one can do. On the other hand it seems to me that you are very proficient with the use of products already at hand. Use what you are comfortable with and continue producing great results.

I am happy that you did a nice job on the the vehicles that you mentioned. What I am happiest about is the fact that your work was taken seriously by the owner of the body shop. It says great things about your work ethic, skills, and products used.

    Keep up the good work!!
