    05` Lincoln Limo Detail - 56k talk a walk

I got this detail from a bodyshop in my town. It was a real treat to work in a nice heated shop for a few days. The shop owner was great and a super nice guy. This was broke up over 3 days and spent about 9 hours on it. The shop owner kept covering it with a plastic sheet so that kept causing some marring. Sorry no befores, but this thing was horrible swirled and scratched up!!!!

    Final Process:
    -#425 to clean surface
-Menzerna Power Gloss via LC 6" + 7.5" orange light cut pad @1500 rpm
-Menzerna po85rd x 2 via LC 6" black finishing pad @1500 (multiple passes becuase the cover left some marring)
    -OCW x 2

    Misc:
    NL on tires
    OCW on wheels
Wheels were unable to be dressed (SORRY)
#425 on windows and on top to clean

PICS: (sorry about the quality, it was in the shop or outside were it was dark )

Very nice job, that thing is just huge. what did you end up charging for the whole job? I remember the thread where you were trying to figure that out.

In the upper Mid-West, clean and dressed wheel wells last about 3 minutes in this weather.

Meh... true, but sealing them up with some undercoating or cheap black spray paint makes a huge difference, and can make future clean-up a breeze.

    Exactly, Charles!!!

    Greg,
Very nice looking job!! What a massive amount of paint to work on. It is a very impressive job to go over that amount of paint surface in that amount of time. I am impressed and envious. I would be crippled by the time I finished the same job in that amount of time.

    Thanks for sharing the pictures!!

Could be, but when the salt and sand hits the streets, I just hit them with the DIY spray wash and wait till spring.
It took me close to 20 minutes to just do that after a recent road trip with the Montana.

Re: 05` Lincoln Limo Detail - 56k talk a walk

Thanks everyone! It was alot of work but I am new a speed demon on the rotary. Its big jobs like this that really teach you how to do things quickly. I got 250 for the job which is a good price for a first timer. I will charge 300-350 in the future, for these animals.

On the issure of wheel wells, they were very dirty, and I didnt have a place to wash them in the shop. Spraying a ton of cleaner and letting it drip on the floor was not an option. I would have loved to do that last step, but it just wasnt possible this time. IT will snow tommarow, and any wheel well cleaning i would have done would be ruinied anyway haha.

The owner of the shop seemed pleased. The ownder of the limo service will pick it up tommarow and then I will see how things go from there. IF anything I got to experience a great detail, and meet a really nice shop owner that I will refer work to.

That`s a LOT of black paint to buff, yikes.

    Great cleanup.
