Bringing a Navy Blue, 2k5 Nissan Altima "Back to new"

Just finished this one a few hours ago.

Owner is a fraternity brother of mine. He hasn`t had much time lately to keep it clean and wanted it "like new" and protected before winter. The interior was pretty dirty for 9k miles but the exterior wasn`t too bad (very light swirling and pretty much no bonded contaminants).

Total working time: Just shy of 4 hours.

    Finals on the interior:

    -Folex to clean everything
-Costco APC / Oxi-Clean mix on the carpets (prespotted with Folex)
    -Extracted via LGCM
-Poorboy`s Trim Restorer to protect interior
-FK1 #425 in jams after degreasing
-FK1 #425 to clean windows, silver, and chrome trim

-TOL`s Tire Cleaner on tires and wells, then pressure washed clean
-Meguiar`s Wheel Brightener on hubs then pressure washed clean

-Menzerna PO85RD via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1500rpm
    -Wolfgang Sealant by hand
    -OCW by hand
    -FK1 #425 to touch-up and on glass

-Meguiar`s Hyper Dressing cut 3:1 in wells
    -Wolfgang Tire Gel on tires

Great job. The flake shots are simply amazing. It is too bad that people let their cars get that bad in just one year. It didn`t look like he cleaned the inside since it was new.

unfortunatly some people don`t take care of their cars. i have seen cars that are 3 months old come in for their first oil change and be trashed. this alitma could be a year old as the `06`s have started to come out. it looks great sean. i love the altima`s. my wife has one for a demo, not to mention i work at the nissan dealership also. great shine on the blue. :drool

Someone is playing ‘hooky’ on an unseasonably warm fall day. I don’t blame you J

My boss’s 350Z only had 5 or 6K on the clock the first time I detailed his car (it was 8 months old at the time), and it was A MESS. It’s hard to believe that you can trash a new car, but I’ve seen it done plenty of times.

I really like the WG look. It’s different than just about any other sealer that I’ve ever used in that regard. OCW brings it out even more.

Meguiar`s Wheel Brightener: Is this an acid based product? How does it compare to S&R?

How can you wash and do a full interior/exterior detail in under 4 hours –with those results, still amazes me. You must be one focused man, and take zero breaks.

Hat’s off to the Master –well done.

    Sean,

    Great job!

I have a new suggestion for you on carpets: Sprayway Instant Carpet Spot Remover. Did a floor mat this weekend with a lot of embedded dirt and this worked very well.

Lee, How does the Sprayaway cleaner compare to Kids N Pets? I tried KnP a few weeks ago and thought it performed well above Folex. Sean mentioned that you ran across this product and liked it too.

Great job! I don`t know how someone could let their new car get this way. Then I saw the MA plates and thought "awesome we could use more shiney cars like this in MA!!" :punk:

Meguiar`s Wheel Brightener: Is this an acid based product? How does it compare to S&R?
I`ve never used S&R, but I just got some Megs WB. WB is awesome!! It definitely has acid. But brake dust just melts off the wheel. I was using it diluted 3:1, but I was talking to someone who dilutes 4:1 and he said brake dust just falls off.

Big fan of Folex but the Sprayway seems a bit better. I have not tried KidsNPets. Who makes it?

Oops.... sorry about that. I must have been wrong.

Paramound Chemical Supplies. You can find Kids `N` Pets at many Walmarts, and Grocery stores. I`m a big fan of Folex too, but IMO Kids `N` Pets is even better. In my area it`s around $6 a quart.

Re: Bringing a Navy Blue, 2k5 Nissan Altima "Back to new"

    Thanks .

detailman: Yeh it should. Sorry for no exterior befores. I put "back to new" in italics because that was what the owner described for me to do. The exterior wasn`t that bad, but the exterior wasn`t too pretty for 9k.

John: WB is great. Used with a pressure washer, even better! Safer than wheel acid, but much stronger than any OTC product.

I didn`t have class until 2pm, but I had to really motor through everything. Yep, no breaks.

I might have to pay you for some "kids n pets". I can`t find it anywhere around here and the internet prices are through the roof!

joyride: Sorry . I got the carpets pretty saturated and the LGCM doesn`t have a ton of suction, therefore I followed up with my shopvac. It`s very powerful and doesn`t make good lines, rather sucks the mats off the ground. I`ll work on it for next time .
