Now finishing ability is something I have zero interest in doing. I thought about it, got a head ache, and ran away!
Finishing is so dependent on so many variables, you can encounter paints where a standard white polishing foam will finish better than a gray finishing foam (particularly on a DA) because of the gray foam bunching up at the paint`s surface. That is just one very small example of many.
The standard orange foam softens with use, and can actually finish out really nicely (I have seen it finish better than white, on rare occasion). The rules of cutting, while not exempt from exceptions, are much more uniform than the complexity of finishing.
Todd, that`s an awesome chart suitable for hanging in everyone`s shop or garage!!
