CarPro Eraser Safely "Erases" Polishing Oils

After reading about Cquartz every night for three months and admiring the thousands of pictures online showing its reflective, hard-as-nails shine, you finally take the plunge and order this state-of-the art weather resistant nano coating that everyone is talking about. You have studied its application and admired its performance, and now its only days away from being in your hands.

Cquartz isn`t a wax or paint sealant, it`s a nano coating that protects your vehicle`s delicate finish for up to two years. Not only does Cquartz enhance the surface, but it transforms it. Once Cquartz is applied, your vehicle`s finish will repel water and contaminants, leaving it looking "just detailed" wash after wash.

Before applying Cquartz you want to remove any swirls or water spots. You can do so using an abrasive polish or compound along with a dual action polisher. But in order to get maximum durability out of Cquartz, you need to remove any polishing oils from the surface that could cause Cquartz not to bond properly. Up until recently, you were stuck with IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipe down. An IPA wipe down effectively removes polishing oils, however it can be a little tricky to use. While IPA does lift oils from the paint, it can redeposit them as you wipe. Improper mixture of IPA can result in a solution that could be damaging to your paint`s delicate finish.

If you`re not sure about mixing chemicals and want something that`s straight forward and easy to use, CarPro has you covered with a new product called Eraser. Eraser is an intense cleaner that not only removes polishing oils, it dissolves them. When you wipe your vehicle down with Eraser, you`re effectively removing oils, fillers, and dust. This unique spray-on cleaner is safe, easy to use, and will prep the surface so Cquartz bonds properly, which ensures best performance out of the nano coating.

Like I mentioned earlier, if your vehicle has any swirls or water spots, you want to remove them before applying Cquartz. With a little bit of knowledge and quality products, you can have your paint free of any defects in no time.

The last thing you want to do is apply Cquartz over paint that looks like this:

The swirls were removed using the "Wolfgang Twins." The Wolfgang Twins consist of Wolfgang`s Total Swirl Remover and Wolfgang`s Finishing Glaze. Total Swirl Remover is an aggressive polish that when used properly, will remove swirls, water spots, and light scratches. The polish features a long working time and virtually no dusting.

My weapon of choice was a Porter Cable 7424xp along with a Lake Country 5.5" Hydro-Tech Cyan Cutting pad.

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover has a long working time and wipes off with ease.

After using the Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover, I went right to using the Wolfgang Finishing Glaze. Wolfgang Finishing Glaze is a finer polish that will further refine the surface and amp up the gloss. It was applied using the Porter Cable 7424xp along with a Lake Country 5.5" Hydro-Tech Tangerine Polishing pad.

After several section passes with the Wolfgang Finishing Glaze, I wiped the polish off and grabbed a bottle of Eraser.

It`s as simple as spraying it on, and wiping it off. What you`ll first notice about Eraser is that it doesn`t have any harsh chemical smell, and isn`t "grabby" like IPA when you wipe it off with a microfiber towel.

Time to pull the tape line off and inspect my results!

What you see below is a reflection of paint that is free of any swirls, thanks to the Wolfgang Twins, and free of any polishing oils thanks to CarPro Eraser. What does all this mean? The paint is now polished to a high gloss and properly prepped for application of Cquartz.

Now you can feel rest assured that your paint`s delicate finish is ready for application of Cquartz with the help of Eraser.

This sounds great for Menzerna po85rd and 106fa. they tend to be a little oil heavy. How long should a bottle last doing average vehicles? I didn`t see the size in the store.
One day I`ll get to do my own car.

Probably depends on how many times you have to re-inspect as you`re working....

I just put through an order for some Eraser this afternoon so by the end of the week I should have it in my hands. Looking forward to trying it; so far I`ve been impressed with most of the CarPro line.

That`s what I like about 3D`s UNO - you can polish and go straight to POXY or the new Nitro Seal without worrying about bonding issues. But use Menzerna (especially 106) and you better plan on 3x IPA wipedowns or get out some Prepsol.
