I have a towel I bought from Adams and I have one of these, the cobra towel soaks up so much more water. I will be buying more in the future.

My current favorite way to maximize my drying towel is by using my master blaster!!! It makes it so I don`t need a drying towel at all.

I got mine when they were on bogo. I was looking to stock up on those and that bogo landed right in my lap

I`ve been using the flooding technique, and I must say it helps. That said, my favorite way to aid in drying a vehicle is by using some for of compressed air. Getting all that standing water out of all the little crevices is a big plus, and I can start laying the wax a little sooner.

Nice write up. It would be great if all could use the 8.0 hp Metro Master Blaster, BUT reality iswe all can`t / don`t have that luxury, so your review / write up on the Cobra family of microfiber towels, appropriately named the guzzler in it`s various sizes is a great alternative.

    Thanks

I wipe all the glass and windows first (dampens the towel) and then dry the rest of the car off

I prefer to have the towel damp when I start on the paint. I don`t notice any streaking as long as I wring it out regularly. I actually think it picks up water better once it`s damp.

Hmmm I never thought to have the towel damp before I start with it. I usually never ring mine out i just grab a new one once pretty much soaked but I will ring it out and see how well that works. Great tips.

I start at the top and work my way down, saving the bottom panels for last.

Re: How To: Maximize Your Drying Towel

    Nick,

These are some great tips for those who dry their entire car with a towel. It`s these little shared tricks that regardless how small or simple they appear to be seem to make a huge impact when detailing a car or truck.

So many times we develop our own methods and personal comfort zones and never seem to step outside that box. Reading, learning, and experimenting are keys to improving our skills, knowledge and ultimately improving the finished product....our cars...
