How to: Detail and protect your interior using Blackfire products.

How To: Use Blackfire products to clean, detail, and protect your interior.

Blackfire USA`s line of premium interior car care products are extremely user friendly and effective. They use the latest in surfactant technology combined with the newest polymers and organic elements to clean and protect your vehicle`s interior. Blackfire USA Car Care`s interior line up includes Blackfire Advanced Technology Interior Cleaner, Blackfire Micro-Engineered Interior Protectant, and Blackfire Hi-UV Leather Conditioner.

Blackfire Interior Cleaner (Advanced Technology)- Blackfire USA Car Care`s Interior Cleaner uses a revolutionary Swedish-sourced non-ionic surfactant as its main ingredient. This water based cleaner does not contain any extreme alkalies, acids, butyl, or butyl ether found in many interior cleaners and all-purpose cleaners. This gentle cleaner is extremely effective at encapsulating and removing grime, grit, and soiling from a variety of surfaces including leather, vinyl, carpet, headliner, fabric, wood, plastic, and even velour.

Blackfire Interior Protectant (Micro-Engineered)- This water based protectant does not feature any oils, silicons, or petroleum distillates. Instead Blackfire Interior Protectant features a state-of-the-art polymer that was specifically developed to create a breathable moisture barrier. This water based protectant was also designed with a heavy does of UV inhibitors to resist cracking, drying, and fading often associated with UV exposure. Blackfire Interior Protectant is safe on all interior surfaces.

Blackfire High-UV Leather Conditioner- Modern coated leather`s do require the type of level of true conditioning as raw aniline hides did in the past. However these coated leathers do require UV protectant as well as a surface coating that will reduce abrasion and keep the leather feeling supple and soft. Using a unique Dow Corning co-polymer, Blackfire High-UV Leather Conditioner cross links with itself to form a tough, protective barrier on leather surfaces. This protectant is fortified with extreme amounts of UV inhibitors to keep the leather supple, soft, and to resist cracking or fading. Additionally, Blackfire High-UV Leather Conditioner keeps moisture in the leather.

Getting Started: The first step in detailing your interior is remove any loose items from door pockets, cup holders, ash trays, and open compartments. Set these items to the side or in a baggy. Next vacuum your interior thoroughly, paying attention to the creases and folds in your seats, the carpeting, and floor mats. If you have carpeted floor mats remove these and beat them against the side of a wall to bring any lose dirt to the surface before vacuuming.

Cleaning. The next step in cleaning your interior is to thoroughly clean any dirt, grime, or previous dressing from all of your interior surfaces. You will need a microfiber towel, a gentle interior brush such as a Leather Brush, and Blackfire Interior Cleaner.

    The soiled leather seat.

A close up shot of leather, revealing dirt and body oil in the grain of the leather hide.

Blackfire Interior Cleaner uses technology instead of alcohols, acids, alkalies, or butyl ether to emulsify dirt and grime. When cleaning leather spray Blackfire Interior Cleaner directly on to the towel or Leather Brush and work a section at a time gently brushing in a circular motion.

The dirt and grime is released instantly from the leather. Blackfire Interior Cleaner is designed to be wiped away and does not require flushing with water like some all purpose cleaners and laundry detergents. Simply wipe the area with a microfiber towel to reveal the clean surface.

Removing the tape shows the dramatic and easy to attain difference.

When cleaning plastic or vinyl mist Blackfire Interior Cleaner onto the surface (or onto the microfiber towel) and wipe clean. Use the leather brush only when additional cleaning power is desired.

Blackfire Interior Cleaner is safe, even on the most delicate surfaces. To clean grease and grime stains from headliner mist on to a microfiber towel and gently work into the fabric. Avoid scrubbing or over saturation of the headliner to avoid loosing the glue and causing it to droop.

Coffee stains and soda spills on hard plastic remove easily with this all-in-one interior cleaner. Mist on to the surface (or towel) and apply. Allow to dwell for 30 seconds, then wipe clean. Note: For embedded or difficult stains, allow to dwell for 1 minute then brush lightly with a Leather Brush.

Autopia Detailing Tip: When detailing your interior remove any items that are easy to replace.

After remove the pieces make sure to vacuum the the area thoroughly.

Mist Blackfire Interior Cleaner onto the trim and allow to dwell for 30 seconds. Agitate the clean with a brush if necessary then wipe clean.

    Replace the items.

Blackfire Interior Cleaner is safe and effective on plastic and metal trim as well as sythetic and natural wood trim. Mist on and wipe clean. Use a dry microfiber towel to remove any residual streaking.

The interior on this car was armed with all-season floor mats made of rubber. Even after vacuuming them they were still heavily soiled and stained.

Mist Blackfire Interior Cleaner on to the floor mat and allow to dwell.

Agitate with either a soft brush or microfiber cloth.

    Wipe clean.

Some residual chalking may occur. Wipe with a damp towel (or ignore if you plan on dressing the mats later) to remove.

Take your time and make sure to clean every nook and cranny of your interior including: The floor "kick panels", seat trim, inside storage compartments, the center console, A-pillars, B-pillars, C-pillars, and rear deck.

Protecting the trim. After your interior has been cleaned thoroughly, the next step is to add a protectant that will resist abrasion and provide UV protection. Blackfire Interior Protectant is formulated with a unique Swedish sourced polymer that protects all the interior surfaces of your vehicles.

You will need an applicator or towel to apply Blackfire Interior Protectant and a microfiber cloth to buff out any streaks.

Begin by misting Blackfire Interior Protectant directly to the applicator.

Apply in a smooth, linear motion. Make overlapping passes and work lightly into the surface to ensure even coverage with no streaking. Buff away any high streaks with a clean microfiber towel.

Blackfire Interior Protectant is safe for all interior surfaces and creates a non-slip surface that drys to the touch. Use it to protect an of your rubber, plastic, and vinyl trim. (Blackfire Interior Protectant is also safe and effective for Leather, although we are using Blackfire Hi UV Leather Conditioner in this example).

Buff into plastic and wood trim.

Lightly apply in even strokes for an even finish on large areas such as the dashboard.

Blackfire Interior Protectant can even be applied to areas such as the floor mats. We recommend lighting buffing the mats with a clean towel to remove any high spots that could be slick.

Take your time and apply Blackfire Interior Protectant to all the trim and panels on your interior.

Leather Conditioning. Blackfire High-UV Leather Conditioner is a extreme UV protectant and mostiure barrier for your leather that resists staining, sun fading, and cracking while helping leather to maintain that soft, supple feel.

You will need a micorfiber towel or applicator to apply Blackfire High UV Leather Conditioner as well as a soft towel to buff to a satin shine.

Apply Blackfire High-UV Leather Conditioner directly to a microfiber towel or foam applicator pad.

Gently massage into the leather using a circular pattern. Blackfire High-UV Leather Conditioner is extremely easy to use and will seem to melt into the leather, leaving behind an even, satin finish.

Use a quality microfiber towel to buff of any areas of over applicator and to create a smooth satin finish.

Because Blackfire High-UV Leather Conditioner creates a supple, soft, and non-slick surface it is ideal for use on leather steering wheels.

    Final Shots.

    Final Touches.

Clean and dry windows to a streak free shine. If the side windows are encased in the door frame in their up positions, lower them slightly and clean the top sides. Replace floor mats and spot vacuum any areas were dust has settled.

This Hyundai Santa Fe was a recently recovered stolen vehicle that was smoked in while missing. To deal with the smell I used 1Z Kilma-Cleaner according to Autopia-Tech`s directions in this thread. Finally I set Detailer`s Pro Series "New Leather Scent" Dual Action Ordor Eliminator to bomb mode and to clean any odor bacteria from the interior.

Nice write-up, Todd. especially like the shots of the leather seats with the tape removed and also the close-ups, you can really see what it likely looks like before and what it`s supposed to look like after.
