    Applying polish on side panels: video says as air flows over car which would be in horizontal lines. I`ve also heard that on vertical panels you should apply in vertical lines top to bottom.
    Your thoughts?

    That will work too...

    The ultimate goal is to get a thin coating of wax onto the paint and then remove it without inflicting any accidental swirls or scratches.

    My personal preference is to always apply everything by machine and get my hand out of the process.
