Two "Must Have" Car Washing Tools - The Brass Shut-off Valve & Brass Quick Connector

Without a doubt, the Single Brass Connector Shut-off Valve is one of the best car washing tools ever invented. Period.

Look, we can all discuss which wash mitt we love the best or which car wash soap is our favorite, or talk about hose nozzles, foam guns or pressure washers, but once we get past that, no matter what your personal preference might be we all have to turn the water on and off and that`s where the Single Brass Connector Shut Off Valve comes into play.

If I were to count how many steps I`ve taken over a lifetime to walk back and forth to the water spigot to either turn the water on or turn the water off I could have walked a hundred miles by now easily.

Ready for water again? Simply turn the T-Handle to the open position.







Water`s back on! And you didn`t have to walk back to the water spigot!

Mike, over the years you could have saved yourself many steps by employing a very simple device that comes as standard equipment on your nozzle...

Now the quick connectors, that`s a horse of a different color. Since adding a foam gun to the wash party, the quick connects come in quite handy and do save those extra steps you mentioned while switching from the Ultimate Nozzle to the Gilmour foam gun. The plastic Gilmour quick connects have proven themselves to be quite durable for me on the business end of the hose while the brass fixtures are nice on the hose bib end.

Great post Mike. It`s missing one important thing though. The main reason for a shut off valve. Every nozzle I have ever used has it`s own shut off valve so why the need for a seperate one? Well as Mr. Clean pointed out it makes changing from a nozzle to a foamer a lot easier especially with the quick connects.

I rarely use a garden hose because of my pressure washer. One draw back to that is I don`t get to use the free flow rinse technique from a water hose. For those of you who don`t know what that is, it`s simply using your garden hose without any nozzle allowing the water to sheet across the surface which leaves less water to have to dry off. I would bet you would need to remove this shut off valve to use that technique as well.
