    Summer Vs Winter

I know summer is much better for business, but I`m interested in hearing from a few of you that live in areas with mild winters. How big is the difference in your experience? 1/2? 1/3? 1/10?!

    Re: Summer Vs Winter

Some of my best months are winter months. My worst month is the month that everyone goes back to school..... everything slows down.... then I pick back up the next month for the rest of the year.....

If you had a permanent location I would think it would be better in the winter.
I only do my own vehicles but I know I spend much more time cleaning them in the winter.

Summer time I can drive a few miles and come home with the car still looking good but in the winter time a few miles and it is a mess.

Around here in the winter time ever time the temperature goes above freezing the tunnel wash places are swamped all day long.

Well I will have to say that business definitely does slow down in the winter but I tried a new thing by Shrink Wrapping boats for winter protection. Since I have so many boat clients it just seemed to be a good fit for the winter months. I went with Dr. Shrink products and I just started to do it hard this past year and I see good things for this year.

I totally agree. If your business gets its volume from hand washing and maintenance contracts, winter in a heated fixed location is your friend. If most of your business is in doing paint correction and more intricate show prep work, winter is a killer.

I did about 70 cars April-October last year. Over this winter I think I did 10....Huge difference. Also in the winter people aren`t coming for any big money making jobs. I got a few interiors, one throwup call, and had to buff a couple scratches from hitting snowbanks..just little stuff.
