    Naming my Business

Did any of you guys out there have difficulty coming up with a name for your business? I`m pretty creative when it comes to stuff like this, but I`m coming to a dead end at this point. I`m here in Buffalo, NY and I checked the NYS Business/Corporation Name database and it helped a little bit, but not a whole lot. I`m an auto detailer and I don`t want my name to be associated with a business that sells bacon and shoe leather.

I`m thinking about using the name Cloud Nine Auto Detail. If anyone one here has that name I`m sorry.......any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Re: Naming my Business

Guess I strayed this off topic a little.

What things do you like about automobiles? Search online for auto detailers. If you like a word or two in the name, cross reference that word to something else.
Here is a lame example: You find Star Detailing. You like the word star, but cannot use it in your detailing name because is it already used. Think about another word related to "Star" Maybe "Galaxy"? Again, excuse the poor reference, it was the first thing that popped in my head.
As said before, use something related to the area you are in. Town, county, state, land mark, something famous.

I`ll post up more ideas as I think of them.

    Re: Naming my Business

That BUFFALone had me pissing my pants....I was having a similar problem because everyone in my area was using the same ol lines that describe something being top end like "Attention to Details" or something like that. My wife and I were at breakfast one morning and she just comes out and says What about spit shining...funny thing is I am in the Army and we spitshine our boots or at least we used to, and my last name is Spitzer so hence the name spitzshine detailing....give all the credit to my wife....I have thought about a couple names to maybe help you out....good luck!

    Re: Naming my Business

I wanted to come up with a name that I could eventually expand beyond just detailing, which I have. I don`t know what your goal for the business is, but you want to think long term about your name. Since I opened my shop, I have added window tinting, paintless dent repair, hand painted pinstriping and custom design. All things that still fall somewhere close to detailing, but are still not detailing. Just a thought...
