First Job Pricing??

Hey All

I got request from someone I work with to do her truck. I was wondering what I should charge for a hand wax and interior detail? Thanks for any advice you have.

It`s really gonna all depend on how much time you think it will take you and how much your time is worth to you. As many people on here have said in the past, some areas can support higher prices than others.

If you want a good answer to your question, be as specific as possible.

What size truck?

How bad is it?

Any polishing involved?

Will you be treating the outside trim or polishing wheels?

These are all questions that should be answered with each job you face. Let me say again that all these questions help you determine how long it will take you and then it`s just a matter of pricing according to how much you feel your work is worth per hour + whatever your costs are.

Generally a self-employed detailer (in my area) gets anywhere from 30-50 per hour working alone. A good detailer can do a very good detail in 3-4 hours on an average car if they are efficient in their process.

Check out what your local detailers do the same job for. But remember, they are doing it professionally - whereas you are not (yet!). Its nice to make a few bucks, but you can afford to undercut their prices and still turn a good profit from a days work. Plus, if you are good value for money, you will get more jobs out of the days work!

a professional detailing center will charge about $60 to $100 an hour, and knock cars out in 2 hours, twice the speed twice the cost...... $30 to $50 an hour covers about 99% of the single man mobile detailing services throughout the nation.... for me personally iam closer to about $30 to $35 an hour, and charge an equipment and product fee of $15 to $27, maybe more depending on the job and products used, and i detail part time (2 to 4 cars max a week)
