    Ticket averages?

What are some of your guys ticket averages on a normal day? Out of curiousity I averaged my tickets yesterday and got about 38 dollars per car. I did one wash and wax and the rest were hand washes in/out. I`ve bumped my prices up a little in hopes to keep my average above 30 dollars per car. I have a basic hand wash that starts out at 25, but doesn`t included tire shire, rain-x, and Meg final touch detailing spray. I used to do most of that for 25, but figured it was worth a lot more. I now have a "Quik Shine" package that includes the hand wash plus tire shine, rain-x, and final touch. Most of my customers opt for the 5 dollar more package.

Where I don`t do car washer per say, I average $150 up to $200 on full details, this includes pickup and delivery. I would not do just a wash for less than $40 provided that was a previous detail customer, that would be a wash, vac, wipe down inside, windows and a QD spray over the outside.

I tend to have one price my services. Not allowing the customer to pick and choose, some will go for the cheapest route, causing you to work for nothing IMO

I would suggest that you have two packages, the wash only and then the mini detail package, that has more of the bells and whistles.

I think then you will be able to get your average prices up and have happier customers as a results.

    Re: Ticket averages?

I`m in south Georgia, and most of my customers are comfortable paying 30 to 40 for a good inside and out hand wash. I offer an Express Detail that starts at 60, but most vechicles are 70 or 80. There are a few other car washers (very unorganized and very unprofessional) that charge 25 for basic wash, so I new I could charge at least 5 to 10 more than them and still be very busy. I`m really working hard to have a good reputation (punctual, professional, polite, and providing excellent service. Once I get all my things (brochure, birthday discount post cards, trailer set-up, door hangers, etc. I post them to get your opinions.

    my 2cents...

If your customers are paying 30-40/wk maybe offering up an incentive to becoming "monthly clients" with direct billing (say 3 ws` + 1 ws&wx) might be a good idea. Not only will you build a steady monthly base income ($175/mo equates to a lil over 2k/yr/client); have time for upgrades as well as other detail work; when you get to the 6/day average (30/wk or 5+K/mo), expanding your operation with another unit or adding a fixed location, will be a snap.
A happy customer tells a friend ... An unhappy one tells many friends !!!

Gim-me a car with finns... :naughty and I`ll shows ya what detailin`s all about... :jump
