Toyota Land Cruiser DONE (21 pics/56k...NO)

    DONE...FINISHED....NO MORE.
I learned my lesson on this one........
    Anyways, the process was...

    Took about 10 Hours total

    Interior
Leather cleaned with white scotch brite and Megs APC 1:5
Leather treated with Eagle One motorcycle leather conditioner. (Love this stuff)
All plastic cleaned with Megs APC 1:5
    Plastic dressed with Quick Detail
    Glass- Stoners
Carpets- Folex, Resolve, and some other foaming stuff....

Did not get all the shots for after....did not remember what before shots I already had.... Some shots I could not take again, since there was a car seat in the way now...

    EXTERIOR
    QEW
    Dry
    Clay with PBs Clay Bar
SSR 2.5 via PC speed 6 (x2 on hood)(yellow Edge Pad)
SSR 1 via PC speed 6
    PBs EX Sealant

WHEELS and TIRES with simple green.....Not diluted. Horrible brake dust.
Tires dressed with Megs Hyper dressing 1:1
Wells dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing 1:4

    BEFORES

This is from the drivers side door ONLY

    AFTERS.........

fake wood is warped and peeling

Could not get the orange and red stains to come out.

EX setting for 60 minutes...bottom and bumper covers were waxed x2 and removed....

    Where is my darn flash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    My window static cling

I am still not satisfied with the outcome, but I think it is as good as it gets...well....for what I charged at least.

    Questions/Comments?

If I had an extractor, it would have been damn near perfect.

Some stains were just set in already. That and so darn ground in.

I had floor mats that went in. They came out just PERFECT. I set them in, and it covered any stains that could not lift. Like pic #4 in the AFTER shots. The mat covers ALL of that. Around the curves and all. She did not mind. I told her that I could spend another 2 hours trying, but it would only make the carpet damp.

Not something I am proud of, but hey...we all run into crap once and a while

Did the owner complain? I would think the owner would be thrilled with the results after seeing those before and after pics.

I see vast improvements on the before and after, I think even with an extractor you still be pulling junk out of that carpet for a long time.

Bite your tongue! You did an excellent job on that dump truck.

Isn`t if funny that folks with relatively new/and nice rides think `a detail` will make it look brand new again? That thing was a disaster. I`d hate to see the inside of their house (LOL). You did a great job on that beast. That`s a lot of real estate to clean up -and they don`t all come out looking brand new. You rolled back the clock a few years on that one, so feel proud about it!

I have a cheap steamer (`the steam buggy`), and it does WONDERS on nasty carpet like that. Granted, you have to hit it 2-3 times & shop vac it up, but it will lift the nasty black/rust looking grime out of the carpet that is bedded in deep. I also like to pre-treat carpet with Poorboys APC & water, then white vinegar/water mix, before hitting it with a dedicated carpet cleaner. I used to think all APC`s are the same -but they are not. Steve`s APC is strong, but it works VERY well (for me) on neglected carpet and leather.

    For a dedicated carpet cleaner......

I still haven`t used anything better than Kids`N` Pets. It leaves behind a solvent smell, but cleans the he** out of abused carpets.

Wow! Chris you did a FANTASTIC job. Don`t be so hard on yourself. That car was a disaster area before. Your customer should have called the CDC and not a detailer. Plus, Land Cruiser are HUGE. My brother has one and wants me to detail it. Luckily, his interior is dark grey and it`s nowhere near as dirty. However, I`m not terribly thrilled with the idea as it`s still HUGE.
