    Business name input?

    Hello Everyone,

I wanted to run my potential business name by you guys. Let me know what you think. I take criticism very well so don`t be scared to speak your mind

    Concours Rehab

"Rehabiliting your vehicle to a concours finish"

    Any input is much appreciated!!!

IMO, unless you are primarily marketing yourself to concours vehicles, I would think of something else.

Same as above. Something with "detailing" in it seems to work the best. I know everyone uses it, but it works.

    Re: Business name input?

If you do name your detailing business /enterprise as a domain name (for e-commerce or internet advertising), I think in the state of New York you will need to register it with the local tax authorities.
    Here are some names:
    (your first name(`s)) Detail Shop
(your first name(`s)) Detailing Spa (or Salon)
    Supreme Detailing
    Detailing Done Right
    Car Shine Shop
    Infinite Gloss Detailing
    Immaculate Detailing
    (my favorite)
    Diamond Detailing
    Show Car Detailing
    First-Place Detailing
Best in the Queens Detailing (your locale)
    Value-Rite Detailing
(if you want to be budget-conscious or cost-effective)
    Detailing by (your first Name)
    Extreme Detailing
    Mirror-Like Detailing
(Meguiar`s owns a similar name (Mirror Brite), so name copyright infringement may come into play!)
Ultimate/Ultra/Infinite Reflections Detailing (but I think someone else has this name!)
    Clean-n-Shine Detailing
    Pretty-Darn Quick Detailing
(Don`t use PDQ, as it is a trade name of a car wash equipment manufacturer from my area)

One aspect of business names is avoid using trade names associated with detailing chemical or equipment companies OR similar-sounding names or initials of detailing businesses in your area OR those detailing business`s names listed in this forum (and there are a lot of them!)

    Re: Business name input?

I wouldn`t want "Rehab" in the name of a Detailing business. Not sure I`d want it in any company name given the, uhm...times we`re living in.

And yeah..."Concours" is very niche-specific, at least to people who are very serious about that scene.

    Re: Business name input?

You could simplify the vocabulary to something as simple as:

    Competition Corrections
    Exhibition Corrections

"Correcting your vehicle to a Competition finish"

I agree with having your name included. Have fun with it.

I was a little bit worried about that as well. Can I do good paint correction? Yes. Am I ready to do an actual Concours vehicle? As much as it hurts to say it, No. I think I was thinking too far into my career when thinking of the name.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I`m going to play around with some of the words and hopefully come up with something.

That`s exactly what I was thinking when I first came up with the name. I thought I`d give it a chance to see what others thought.

    Re: Business name input?

Regarding using variations on the word "Correction", I doubt that one potential customer in a thousand would know what that`s supposed to mean. Sure, *WE* know...but the average person who pays others to do the detailing probably doesn`t. Ditto for other examples of Detailer`s Jargon, just use words that average people will understand.

Tc99m- Keying in the above makes me feel like I oughta say "no hard feelings" or something, since you used "Corrections"...

No Problem! I actually had a nice laugh at your apology.

That is the same point I was trying to make with "simplify the vocabulary ". You just said it more hmmmm "eloquently".

It gets you toward the front of the yellow pages .. add AApex and you move even further ... Use your name first or last Detailing NYC or just NYC Detailing or AAA NYC Detailing

Ah, I like that! For all sorts of reasons..

And I agree with Poorboy about including your name, maybe something like "Apex Detailing NYC by [theDetailer718]" or something like that. Having the "NYC" in there does give you a good locale-hint, not sure just how to work your (real ) name in there though.
