Should I go to traffic school in CA?

I accidentally went by a stop sign but thankfully I can still take traffic school. I have a clean record

Should I even do it? I feel a stop sign ticket shouldn`t increase my insurance right? Technically non-moving violation (jk)

After doing a quick search, I`ve come across one called Best Online Traffic School (frankly they all say best or cheapest LOL ).

    Any experiences?

Try a Comedy Driving School, much more bearable.

Check with your insurance company. Sometimes tickets never hit your insurance. I got a speeding ticket and it never made it to my insurance company. I’m not sure that one ticket will raise your rates either. I know an accident will, but tickets vary.

You don’t tel them you have a ticket you just check for any infractions. I use Progressive Insurance and I can check online to see if I have anything against me. If you can’t check online just call your insurance company and say you would like a review in order to get their best rate (you should do this once a year anyway). The review should tell you if you have had any marks against you raising your insurance.

Yes, take the traffic school option so this never hits your driving record. You don`t know what could happen tomorrow, keep your record as clean as possible.

The only people I know that go to traffic school in GA are repeat offenders or DUI cases that are about to lose their licenses. Going to traffic school here does nothing to your insurance. People do take driver education courses to get a discount on their insurance. Maybe it’s different in California.

Flying Squirrel- Find out if there`s any benefit. Ask using hypothetical wording. Don`t waste your time unless there`s a benefit that outweighs the time/effort involved in attending. None of them will be worth a [crap], it`s just a game.

A stop sign is a moving violation.

The traffic school exists to generate money for the state or city. It’s usual to attend the state-recommended school for it to count.

If attending the school ensures that it doesn’t go on your record, take the school. In most places, tickets affect your driving record for one year. In most places, three movers in a year and you lose your license. Then insurance gets REAL expensive, real fast. Add the attorney fees to petition the court to give your license back. Which you may only be able to get a provisional enabling you to get to work and back home in a certain time period, not being valid outside those set periods.

However, since California is like a different country, it may be totally different there.

    Good luck,everything will be fine.

Each ticket has a certain number of points associated with it. Get the code violation and find out from insurance how many points that one is. Then ask insurance "How many points in a year raises my rates"? It`s simple math.
