    Greetings all-

I have a black 1996 Corvette and despite my best efforts, the car`s paint could use a little professional TLC. :buffing:

Who`s up for it and how much is it gonna run me?

Mobile Jay does top notch work. Not sure on his pricing but around here for a full correction on a vette, your looking at minimum of $700, ranging up to $1500.

Jason is one of the best in Houston, I would highly recommend him, he does great work and is very thorough.

Now about your post and question....

You get what you pay for, I wouldn`t be as much concerned about how much it`s going to cost as I would be more concerned about the detailer performing the work, do they know how to correctly polish paint? do they know how to finish down hologram free? what products are being used? are they glazing to temporarily fill in defects? etc. etc.....

I know for a fact that Jason meets and exceeds all these questions as I have seen it with my own eyes.

Last full correction I did on a black C6 coupe ended up being $1100.

Not sure what a "full correction" entails. I do no need a no-holds-barred job done. I just want some of the light scratches, etc. buffed out. I was hoping not to pay more than 200-300 bucks.

What exactly does full correction mean? What are the less extreme options available to me?

Full correction is detailing terminology for getting out every single swirl/spider web scratch in the paint, basically restoring the paint to better then new condition.

    Full Correction = Flawless paint.

You should take a look at the pro click and brag section on here and see how the paint is corrected for better examples.

Not much less extreme processes when you`re talking about removing scratches and such, but talk with Jason and see what he says.

$200-$300 isn`t much for paint correction, maybe a 1 step polishing, but on a hard vette clear it may not clean up the scratches as much as you might want it too. We`re talking about restoring the paint, to have it repainted would easily cost you $7000-$15,000 so the cost is cheap comparatively.

Like I said you get what you pay for, if you`re really wanting that kind of work done that cheaply, you can probably find most body shops or detail shops doing it for that price but you will regret it as they do not finish down there work and it will have tons of buffer marks in it after all the glazes wash off.

Also remember when someone does it correctly and removes the scratches for good, if you maintain it correctly afterwards with two bucket washing and using clean micro fiber towels, you should not need it polished out again for years.
