I just wanted to know how much the going rate is for an exterior detail of a black coupe.

Paint is in good condition with some swirls.

What would you all estimate for just an exterior detail:

    Wash

    Clay

    Polish

    Wax

Also, by the way, I have a clear bra so not sure if that entails a different process to clean and detail.

    Thanks.

estimated that it`ll take you about 5 hours to do it... charge by the hour from there if you want.

I always estimate based on seeing the vehicle first but based on your description I`d say 5-8 hours. Without knowing your location I`d say an hourly rate for someone who should know what they are doing would range between $20-$40.

Forget the “going rate.†You want the rate from somebody who actually knows what he’s doing. Somebody like OctaneGuy.

"Black paint in good condition" means so many different things. Seeing it in person would be the only way to provide an accurate quote. Meeting expectations requires the understanding that it`s all about time. The more time you put into it, the better the results, the higher the cost. Not everyone needs or wants a flawless finish, though most would like a better than "average" finish.

Thanks PC, Greg, Samurai for the thumbs up!
