Guys I have a jet black bmw x3. it needs some paint correction its got neglect from the previous owner before I got it. No major scratches but it has webbing and swirls in it. Looking for someone to get it looking great but at the same time its not a showroom car. I have applied several coats of polish and even some glaze to it. I just want everything stripped down and start fresh.

please text me at 252-314-3929 I live in Nashville N.C.

    my email address is bimmerclubnc@gmail.com

    Chad,

I`d still be happy to take a look at it if you would like to bring it into the Raleigh area. Expect to hear from Junebug. He`s probably the closest to you. Woo, aka SilvaBimma, would be the likely other one in the area, but he lives about a mile from me.

Park in your garage, turn all lights off. Turn on flash light of halogen. Now you will see the real mess the paint is in. 3-4 year old Jet black paint = lots of work. You either do a basic polish job, or full out correction. Once paint is in near perfect condition, you will start chewing it up with the very first wash. Worst paint ever.

    Gee Thomas that was encouraging?...

May I suggest you find a great detailer and pay him to do it right the first time, and if you don`t already know how to. I would ask him to show you how to properly wash a car. It will make you days easier in the future. Best of wishes.

    No problemo.

    1 - I care about this guy

    2 - I hate Jet Black

3 - I think the OP appreciates honesty.

Thomas is right in the "tone" of care, going nuts on the checkbook, without even seeing how the OPs maintenance will pan out, is a little risky. I would say see how you can maintain a 1 step correction - which will yield a lot on this paint first.

Thomas is right about that paint. Getting it right and keeping it that way is only slightly less stressful as doing a vasectomy on yourself with your eyes shut. If it was my car, I would just wash, clay, and one step it with Uno and a MF pad. Or either get it repainted. I am assuming this is NOT a weekend car or trailer queen.
