If you have a nice house, should you shell out for a full time house keeper, or else live in an apartment! That`s kind of what you are telling me. Just because I don`t want to spend 5k on coating a new BMW doesn`t mean I don`t have my priorities right.

I am sure I can find someone who will do a good enough job in my budget. I`m sorry I don`t drive a Ferrari and make a million dollars a year like your customers.

Oh and LOL is not an appropriate response on a thread like this. It upsets me. As a highly reputable guy in a service industry, I expected more from you. You kind of remind me of the Cartier salesman who looks down on people because they wear a Seiko.

Batman...if the car is defect free you`re probably only looking at $500-800 to have it done. The M3 I did above was only $600 (minus the cost for installing the parts).

Tell your salesperson (or sales manager) explicitly not to wash or detail the car in anyway. BMW dealer or not, their detail department will do more harm then good. Once you receive the car contact one of the above 3 detailers and have them do the job.

Anyone else? I`d be thrilled to get David Fermani to do this, but as one of the celebrity detailers, he may be out of my price range.

What’s with Miami “brand new” BMW owners wanting their cars Opti-Coated??? Geesh, this sure feels like déj` vu? I wish I would have caught this thread sooner, but I’ve been slammed with work the entire week and away from my computer. I really don’t understand the motives behind creating this thread? Especially doing so a couple hours before contacting me through e-mail asking if I can still do it? You have my phone # too and you’ve already been quoted my rate structure. What I don’t get is that we’ve been in regular communication about me correcting your car and helping you with technical questions since August of 2010, but this thread blatantly shows your intensions to be different. You’ve followed this forum long enough as well as the threads I’ve forwarded to you to know that I am one of, if not the only Opti-Coat & correction “Specialist” who lives in S. Florida, yet you post this searching for an additional source? I don’t get it? Regardless, even though I currently reside in Michigan (and still owning a home in FL), everyone should be aware that I am still fully capable and interested in taking on a limited amount of work in Florida.

Bottom line, I trust that your car will be in good hands with either one of my close friends Todd or Bryan. Best of luck with your endeavors. :wavey

With all due respect Chad, please understand that prices on detailing(especially applying Opti-Coat) can, does and should fluctuate geographically throughout the country.

Seriously? I never said 5k on a new coating. My customers have nothing to do with this. For the purpose of this conversation, I don`t just work on Ferrari`s and cator to people making millions. Here is a prime example.

    http://www.autopia.org/forum/click-b...details-4.html

For the record I never once questioned priorities, thats not my nature. I was just stating, its your car do what you want. Remember you came on here asking for advice. This is a open forum with many opinions. What upsets me is the fact that you want great work at an inexpensive price. Imagine if your on the other end busting you butt to build a career and to provide a service. There are expences that need covered. Insurance, tax, cost of services, and labor, and a few other things. Its not easy to make a living on your own. Then you have someone coming in who ?`s a price. I have been there and done that. It`s my business and my fee`s if you don`t like it well someone else can do the job. Yes I understand your may pay more for a name, but thats just life. I spent countless hours building my business to what it is. I must say I think I`m doing something right. In several years I went from parttime out of my house to a half million dollar business. I think I learned something a long the way. One of the biggest things was to say no on certain jobs. Jobs where people have questioned my price or other related things. And as far as the Cartier salesmen who looks down on people for wearing a Seiko. That nuts. Paint is Paint. I`ll polishing anything if someone wants to pony up. You can ask anyone who has met me in person. I always give when I can. I share my wealth often. I answer on average 5 phone calls a day from fellow detailers looking for advice. I get about 25 emails a week asking for advice. I won`t even get into PM`s Last I looked I have like 56 I need to reply to yet just on Autopia. DId you know I donated A good chunk of change to the local high school. I am a man who will always try to do what I can for others. Im not perfect not will I ever be. If I offended you. I apologize, but try and see it from our side.

You still don`t get it. You want the best possible job for so-so money. That will never work.

It is also insulting that you think David would charge someone more because he/she drives a Ferrari. You are driving a BMW and not a Kia. That is another way to look at it. But for the last time, see if you can understand this.

David Fermani charges (I believe) hourly. If you want Opti Coat applied, I think his fee is $500

So you see, the kind of car you drive is irrelevant. David is able to charge what he charges because he is an exceptional craftsman. You want the best or one of the best? Expect to pay a higher fee. That is life.

You still haven`t answered my question btw.

I actually flip flop my price structure from hourly to step pricing depending on the application. In this case I quoted the OP a set amount for each step of correction as well as for the application of Opti-Coat. Also, keep in mind that I would have charged this person the same rate structure for his new Blue BMW as I was going to for his much older soild black Lexus.
