Got a couple of dings in my car from before I picked it up 2nd-hand, and I`d like to get them straightened out. Any way to DIY?

I would suggest enlisting the services of a PDR tech vs. trying to remove them yourself. The problem with the latter is that if you mess up, there may be no way to fix it all. ....short of body work and paint. A good PDR tech can do amazing work.
