    Window Fan

Does anyone use a window fan in their garage to help keep air moving in the Summer? I`ve never used one and I`m wondering how well they work.

Dan, I have a nice fan in the garage that`s mounted on the wall. I use it to stir the air in the summer and winter. It`s also quite effective at drying the floor after being squeegeed and the fan tipped down toward the floor. Also helpful in terms of eliminating any exhaust if an engine has been run in the garage.

I use a portable big floor model to keep the mosquitoes off me as well as a window fan to keep the temps below 100F. I plan on installing A/C this year because the roar of the fans is annoying and will not allow peaceful detailing.

    Below 100 is always good.

I just didn`t know how well those window fans work. I have never owned one. I have one window in my garage. I suppose if I open both garage doors and put the fan in the window that will at least help a little.

Most of those window fans I have seen are pretty small and can`t move much air by design. There are a couple 16 inch blade ones that move more air but it`s still not going to be what a larger fan can move

    Re: Window Fan

I use a big box fan. However, I`m lucky enough to have windows and a side door. I open the windows and place an air filter in the opening of each window.. Then I prop open the door with the box fan. Pulls air nicely from across my garage. Plus it doesn`t kick up as much dust. Really helps during Pollen season.
