    8` LED Light

I`m looking for an 8` LED light for the center of my garage. Anyone have any recommendations???

I`d like something a little better quality than Home Depot or Lowe`s if possible.

    Thanks!
    Dan

Scangrip, I have all the series. Nova, Vega and Colormatch. For a detail work or car maintenance they are the best bar none.

They make 8 foot surface mount lights? Sorry maybe I should have been a bit more clear. I need something for the ceiling in my garage.

I ordered 26 fixtures from Bees Lighting listed in the first post of that thread but I went with the 5K bulbs. Very happy with them and Bees was very fast with delivery.

    Re: 8` LED Light

To bring this thread back around - I did quite a bit of light bulb research the past few days.

I ended up going w both the light bulbs and fixtures Chad suggested. For anyone that read through all 30 something pages of the Garage Journal thread - the main "light guy" on there REALLY knows his lighting inside and out...so i can see why Chad picked what he did. Basically I just followed their lead...

I finally found a place where you can purchase less than 30 bulbs.

    https://www.prolighting.com/zy-t8-18...ElgaAiVV8P8HAQ

These bulbs are 2,250 Lumens (very bright!) a Color Rendering Index of 82 (The closer the CRI is to 100 the closer you get to "true color" rendering. 82 is a excellent rating) and a color temp of 5000K (ideal for detailing). They also have frosted lenses which is great for those of us w lower garage ceilings. Reduces the glare when you look at them.

Ended up going with the fixtures that Chad bought as well

4 Ft LED Ready Double Strip Light

The above bulbs are "plug and play" w these fixtures. The can be surface mounted or hung by a chain. They do need to be hard wired.

So basically for about $45 you have an awesome 4` LED light fixture.

    Re: 8` LED Light

The 30 bulb minimum is new. I ordered 14 fixtures initially and 28 bulbs and there was no minimum. I just placed the order for 12 more fixtures last week and had to buy the min 30 bulbs. :/

Also, the fixtures have a plastic connector inside so that all you have to do is strip back the hot/neutral wires and push them into the connector. The ground will need a wire nut though. They are really easy to wire up and no silly ballast to worry about.

Here is another good place to buy bulbs: LED Bulbs – GreenTek Energy Systems. I have dealt with them numerous times for 8` single tip bulbs for my warehouse. They have great prices and are easy to deal with.
