    Re: Let`s see you`r shop....

Here are some of my shop.

This is an early shot of our old shop after a lot of work. I have a lot of pictures of it if anyone wants to see more of it.

We were in that shop working for about 8-9 months. We now have a new shop that became available that we couldn`t pass up. The old one would fit two if you were working on them. I stored three cars in it when I had to for the night. The new shop has a 12` door in the wash bay (the other shop had one 10` door) so we can get cube vans in. Plus we have an area that will fit 4 cars in. This area has two 10` doors and one 14` door. So we can get a rig, bus, rv and so on in there. We have 48` in lenth in this shop. Now on to the pictues.

    This is the wash bay.

Great shop and beautiful clientele! What type of polisher is Rob using in this photo from your site?

    Thank you.

The polisher is actually a homemade one. by a collegue in sweden.
its the base off a cyclo type machine, then it has been modified with a larger more powerfull motor from a rotary polisher...

    Re: Let`s see you`r shop....

Yea....I`m part of a dealership. I`m the only one there, so I`m pretty much my own boss. Half of the stuff in the shop is mine. The boss man hates spending money on me. I`m trying to get him to lower the light down, they are way too high. Think it will take and act of Congress. And I`ve been trying to get heat in the shop for some time, but the heaters are sitting in the back storage room untouched. I have to use a kerosene heated. That adds up at $30+ for 5 gallons........

How does he like it- any benefits over traditional polishers? Looks interesting.

I dont know about any of you other driveway detailers, but seeing shops like these inspires me to organize my garage in ordered fashion (sort of like GregCavis`s) at the top. Every detailer needs a domain. Right??

    Re: Let`s see you`r shop....

Hi civ, when looking for a shop a floor drain and a paved parking lot are a must.Try to get a newer building you will have lower utilities. And look for a deep building. Best shop I had for layout was 30X80 could work on 6 cars at once. Present shop is 30X40 can only work on 2-3 cars at once. Also look for a lot of eletrical outlets along the wall with GFI outlets or breakers(A MUST). Also try to get to be good friends with a eletrician and have him mount water proof lights a the wall waist high way better than tripping over portable lights.Ohh and another thing never do anything for a dealer for free, believe me they will get plenty from you for free and don`t get upset when a dealer drops you they do it all the time to get you to drop your price just make sure that you get a couple dealers and watch out for wholesale dealers they will eat you alive if you let them.

Boy Chris,I have been to your shop and did not notice the picks.. Nice job showing your shop. Even though the pictures look great....it is even nicer seeing it in person.

All your ideas are good, but this is absolute. I have a paved lot, but not a floor drain (not really anyway).
