    Rupes 21 counterweight rusting

Hi guys, I have a Rupes 21 MK2 and I like to take off the backing plate every week or so and lubricate the shroud and backing plate. but these last 3 weeks the counterweight has started to become very rusted. I try to clean the rust off with a MF towel and a tiny bit of rust removing gel and it comes out nice. but I am worried about the rusting. Any ideas as to what I can do?

    As always Thank you,
    Philip

Give it a liberal application of Rust-Mort - a phosphoric acid product. The Rust-Mort will convert the rust to a black, hard coating, maybe iron phosphate or something and it won`t rust any more.

I did my lawn mower mulching blade yesterday and within an hour, the blade was dry and black and was back on the mower.

Give it a try, it won`t harm anything and as a worst case scenario, you`ll be out 10 minutes of your time.
