Re: Power vs. Consumption - Why bigger is not always better.

The main point we are trying to highlight is that you should not judge a tool`s power simply by the energy that consumes. In other words, put the tool in your hands, see the work it can accomplish, and compare it to what is available in the market. Judge the tool on the work it can perform.

We are very confident that after people have an opportunity to test the new Mark II tools at SEMA, all questions about performance (compared to others) will be quickly answered.

I was with Mike Phillips in the Autogeek Garage, and on speed 4, with his entire body weight pushing down on the tool (to the point the blue pad was rising above the backing plate) he could not stop the rotation. The LHR15 Mk.II and LHR21 Mk.II deliver a huge amount of torque (30-40% more than the previous tools) and I believe everybody will be more than impressed with how far this bar has been raised.

Todd, everything sounds great. A couple things I would like to know.
    when will they be available?
    price?
    how about a longer warranty?
maybe those questions have to wait another week?

one more thing- looking forward to the giveaway

Ok, can you answer this question? Would you say RUPES other surprises are bigger than the Mark II that we already know about?
    I hope that makes sense.

In a way yes, in another way no. LOL

Lets just say I think people are going to be absolutely floored by the idea when they see it.

I expect a phone call from my bank to verify charges after key SEMA announcements.

Re: Power vs. Consumption - Why bigger is not always better.

I don`t call the rupes a revolutionary design. Just the next stage in the evolution of RO machines and I already have plans for the next two generations way beyond the mark II
though I will give credit to Marco and the guys for being a tool manufacturer who looked at our industry and said lets give them a proprietary tool, not just another sander polisher in one like a makita bo6030 or rotex

Currently I don`t need the rupes tools and I`m not a complete fan of random orbital, I like how forced rotation and rotary polishers work a polish.
I agree that watts or amps alone isn`t enough of a gauge.
Alot of the Chinese das machines said 880 watts or more but in my hands during testing I found them pretty gutless

Designing a tool just to make work get great aster is good but it shouldn`t be the only goal of designing a machine.
It`s all about finish quality - making it better with each generation. Do things we couldn`t before.
