    Rupes Whats your combos

I took a hiatus on detailing.....and have started up again...

Currently have the 15 and mini.
Just ordered some mini MF pads to the stash

I`m curious for all you pros and joes.
What are your rupes pad/polish go to combos...

I`m in need of new polishes and pads.
My previous stash of most recent is Sonax 400 and PF 4/6 with some LC pads.
Def. need new pads. Rupes and LC pads don`t quite last..

Let me hear it as I start fresh again

Try out the new Griots Garage BOSS pads on your LHR 15ES. They`ve got a thin profile, so they spin great on that machine.

And if you haven`t tried the new 3D AAT Compound/Polish, you`re missing out.

Lake Country HD pads. You can abuse the mess out of them and work really well on a Rupes.
Meguiar`s Microfiber Pads. Excellent cut and can abuse them as well.

For the mini, I mainly just use Rupes pads. Really don`t have a choice to anything else that is out there. I am wanting to try the Adam`s 4" pads, but I am hearing LC is coming out some pads for the mini.

Sonax Cutmax, Sonax 4/6, FG400, D300, and SIP1500 are some of my favorite polishes and use often.

For the mini....I`ve used my older 4" pads as well....they don`t hold up on the Rupes.

Picked up the Rupes MF just to try how it cuts on a pair of headlights I have planned to work on this weekend

It took me about a year and a half to figure this out, but the only pads I truly recommend for the rupes machine are the rupes pads. IMO they will cut and finish down as good as any of the other pads and is purposed for the machine your using. Im not sure if your an experienced detailer, but if your a beginner this especially holds true.

    Rupes Whats your combos

I just stick with the Rupes polishes & pads. I`m not a pro - I`ve never felt a need to stray. Only thing different I use are paint cleaners, mainly Prima Amigo.

I will tell you the Rupes compound dusts a lot. I guess that could make me want to try something else if I was using it every day.

    Re: Rupes Whats your combos

After using many different pads, I too have decided to stick to Rupes pads and their polishes for most of my work. I`ll play around with the Menz line of polishes, but when it needs to be done right I go back to Rupes pads and polishes. They did a great job of engineering their system. One of the main reasons to buy a Rupes and not a Griots.

    It`s funny how machines come/go.

My Metabo and Fein sit all lonely in the drawer ;-)

Back on the other forum....it seems to be the general consensus that it`s Rupes pads, LC HD pads and nothing else ...

I agree, Adams 4" for now until Lake country comes out with them, which I`m sure who makes the Adams pads.
Lake country 6" HD for the 15 and I`m a Wolfgang homer.

How would you place sonax cutmax compared to other heavy hitters in terms of ease of use on a DA, cut/finish and work time.

I have the same combination and I have a variety of Rupes pads for both machines. For the foam pads I did not like the blue (too coarse) and got better results using the MF blue pad or the green foam pad.

I found HD Polish, Rupes Diamond Ultra Polish, Rupes Zephir to work pretty well. I also have tried M105 and M205 but I did not try enough combinations to make them work for me.

    Yep.

3D AAT Rubbing Compound and 3D AAT Finishing Polish have been my "go-to" recently. I`ve used them on most of my recent correction details. I`ve got BLACKFIRE and Menzerna too just in case those don`t play well with that paint. I actually just finished my 32 oz bottles of the AAT stuff and will be replacing them with gallons to refill my 12 oz squeeze bottles.

It works great on a DA and is super easy to use. It has zero dusting, has a really long working time, cuts slightly less than FG400 and finishes slightly better. I would say it is nearly impossible to overwork it. Only bad thing is its price.
