Upgrading to rupes 15 or 21?

Hey guys. I`m needing help deciding witch rupes polisher to get.
Do I go for the 15, or 21? If there is somebody with both. Witch one is your go to for most things, and why?
I will be using it for anything from little roadsters to full size suv`s, and trucks. I already have the pc, and gg 6". I want to dedicate those for smaller jobs. Headlights, tight spots, motorcycles, etc.
With the change in the amount of stroke Is there a big difference in correction ability between the two rupes?
Also is the size, and stroke of the 21 going to get in the way?

    Thanks again!

I just ordered the 21 today, looking forward to giving it a go.

I currently use a PC with 6" and 4" pads, and a Rotary with 8" wool... I`m excited to have something between the Rotary and the PC

Congrats on the new machine! You`ll definatly have to let us know how you like it! I finally got to a computor that would let me search, and I must say the 21 is realy where I am leaning rite now. We`ll see if anyone can change my mind. Am I correct in thinking that the smaller 15es bp will fit on the 21, and rupes just doesnt recommend it because they would rather you buy the smaller machine?

Had a covo the other day with a rep at detail fest. Said he uses 21 with the smaller backing plate at his volume shop and it works great. They are both smooth and you will love it. Makes me want one but don`t think I will use it enough!

I have a Rupes 15 but I keep thinking if you have a 21 you will need a second machine for tight spaces.

You should grab that Open Box 21 for a nice discount. If it`s still available.

Re: Upgrading to rupes 15 or 21?

Hi , I`m Paul and I`m addicted to tools. I have no idea what it means to have too many tools hehehe. I bought a 21 when they first came out and after a short learning curve I love it. I use both 5" & 6" bp`s. I use a friends 15 now and then but prefer the 21 with the 5" bp most of the time. Besides my 21 I have the Rupes LHR75 &75e and have sold my two GG 6" machines and the 3" unit. Next on my game plan is to sell my G100v2 Megs and pick up a Mt-300. So to answer the OP`s question IMO the 21 with a 5" bp is a great choice.

I`m in the same boat, waiting for shipping now

I was long overdue for new pads anyway (mine are over 10 years old) so I`m looking forward to having new pads as well as a new polisher!!

I also have the 15 and thought 21 would be an issue for smaller panels. Then I purchased the mini, and looking back if I knew I was getting the mini (which wasn`t out at the time), I wouldn`t have mind going with the 21. Don`t get me wrong I love my 15ES

    I`m not kicking myself yet.
What don`t you like about the 15?
I haven`t used mine yet since the weather in NJ is too cold. I went with the 15 though to get a smoother polisher and sold my griots machines. I only use 5.5 - 6" pads so didn`t want to purchase a backing plate for the 21 either.
I`m only looking at the 21 to do other people`s vehicles if I get more work and if they need major correction. I have a 3401 though and would only buy another polisher if I keep getting overtime.

Re: Upgrading to rupes 15 or 21?

I received my LHR21ES yesterday and briefely tested it out on a 2013 Ford Fusion.

    I`m in love already.

Tried it with the yellow polishing pad and an AIO polish/wax, blown away at how fast it works the product down compared to my PC7424... I`ve read that it`s 50% faster, I`m thinking its a bit more than that...

I have all of them, the 21 with the 5 bp is the best for corrections. I do love the smoothness of the 15 though.
