At the risk of sounding rude, might I suggest the SEARCH function...

Do a little reading (your due dilligence), and then come back to the Pro Forum with some specific areas of concern.

    Good Luck!

Writing a Business Plan is a lot easier than most people think. Basically all you need to do is write an outline about what`s involved in starting and operating a business. It`s not something you do all at one time. Once you`ve got the outline set-up then you can add more information as you begin to form your plan. It`s really all about just getting your thoughts and business ideas down on paper. Hey, it`s a lot easier than trying to carry all of that stuff in your head. Here are a few things to consider just to get you started.

    BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

The first thing you need to do is to write a description of the business. Then write down your thoughts on why you think the business will be profitable. Document what you have already learned about operating a detailing business from suppliers, other business people and trade associations. Write down what you think will be unique about your business.

    MARKETING

Write about your thoughts on the detailing market in your area. Who is your market? Who is your customer? How do you intend to satisfy this market? How will you attract new customers? How are you going to price your service?

    THE COMPETITION

Go out there and identify your nearest competitors. Write down why you think their detailing businesses are successful. List what you have learned from their operations.

    MOBILE OPERATION

Identify the basic territory where you intend to operate a mobile detailing business. Make sure this territory is also in-line with your marketing goals.

    ON-SITE LOCATION

Identify a good location that includes the type of building that you think will meet your needs. And make sure the location will be able to attract the right customers for the service you intend to offer.

    MANAGEMENT & PERSONNEL

Write down why you think your past experience will help you in this business. If you`re planning on hiring other people, identify who will be part of your management team and what their job responsibilities will be. Write down any other additional resources that are available to help this business be successful. Identify your personnel needs and wage scale at start-up and into the next year. Begin to outline a basic training plan for operations personnel.

    LOAN OR INVESTMENT

Identify how a loan or investment will help to make your detailing business more profitable. Write down why you think you may need to buy or lease a building and equipment.

    OBJECTIVES & GOALS

Identify how you will know when your detailing business is successful. Write down how you intend to identify specific benchmarks and how you will follow-up in order to improve your business. Write down why you think your business will be a success and any other information that will help to further explain your business objectives and goals.

    THINGS-TO-DO

1 - Identify the type of business, market and customers you intend to service.

2 - Identify why the business will be profitable.

3 - Identify how the business will be affected by seasonal changes.

4 - Identify specific business objectives and goals.

5 - Decide whether the business will be a mobile or on-site operation.

6 - List your five nearest competitors.

7 - Identify how your business will be better than that of the competition.

8 - Identify your experience and knowledge of this type of business.

9 - Identify your abilities, interests and reasons for going into this business.

10- Identify why you will be successful in this business venture.

Answer those and you’re a mile ahead of most start-ups, then comes the blood, sweat and tears.
