Assuming you`re assuming I wash the bay with water. . . no. I do it by hand. Typically the guy has gone through a few puddles, it has accumulated dust and the chrome is tarnishing from the heat (frking jealous!!) so it is all worked out with S&W, four or five MF`s and applicable cleaners. The hardest part is keeping my mid-section for fouling up his quarter panel as I work in there. The engine bay is deep, lotsa horsies. HTH

Don’t bother asking for details about what the other dude did, it’s working backward.
Set the expectation higher and show that you’re confident in what YOU do.
Set a price that you’re comfortable with and explain why it costs more/less (experience, products etc).
Don’t sell short by having the customer dictate the job. If you’re good at what you do and you trust it, sell him what you do.
Business 101.
If you work to the ex detailers rate, you either start cutting corners or you’ll really hate the work when it should be enjoyable.
Um, This OP has not been active since 2007 and this post is a reply 11 years LATER. I don`t think the OP will see this reply
