We spent almost a whole day polishing and waxing this 50ft yacht. The owner will not let anyone else touch his boat except me as I did his last two yachts. It seems he keeps upgrading every year. He started with a 42ft, then upgraded last spring to a 46ft, and now upgraded again to this 50ft. We polished it with Heller Glanz and then topped it with 3m marine grade paste wax. The sides really show the reflection. Here is the whole boat.

    Here is the side view.

Incredible. You win something. I don`t know, we`ll have to make something up.

That first picture fills me with terror! I guess you just do one section at a time, but wow! Very impressive results.

Did you do it with a PC or a rotary? Is it a gel coat. Also did you do the cabin etc?

How much do you charge for something like that? $500?

Wow! To quote Robin Williams, "That`s God`s way of telling you that you have tooo much money."

Does Mirrorfinishman`s `rule` of two feet per hour apply?

Here, I`m making stuff up, but that would be 25 manhours, and if we charged $20 per hour, it would be a $500 job... I wonder if it is enough?

    Big job!

Excellent work, Rick! What kind of durability are you getting from that 3M wax? Good thing you have those huge boats keeping you busy. The weather this February isn`t as bad as last year but it isn`t that great either. Supposed to start raining tonight and through Saturday, nice the next two days then two more days of rain.

At least I talked the guy with the 44` motorcoach into letting me go nuts on the exterior for today and tomorrow (if needed).

My price for the boat was $300, but we only did the hull - from the rubrail on down. I was supposed to do the whole boat, but things change. It took us about 5 hours to polish and wax.

The 3M wax is supposed to be really durabable and last longer than most marine waxes since it is a paste wax. I will keep you updated on how long it lasts.
